"Deep breaths Mira. Just think of it like the mortal realm." Beatrix glanced towards her fashionable best friend before taking her hand in her own. That one remark made Elmira smile as she flattened out her tartan pants and placed her spare hand back on her suitcase.
"We rule the mortal realm and we'll do exactly the same in Alfea because we'll be together." A smile spread across the two girls faces as they began to waltz through the iron gates of their new home. The scene around them was absolute chaos: fairies were excitedly reuniting with their friends and specialists were playfully fighting in the courtyard before everyone's attention landed on the first year best friends who already seemed to own the place. The overwhelming sense of jealousy and envy filled the air as they passed a couple of fairies who were standing to the left of the specialist halls.
Elmira couldn't help but smirk at the attention they were receiving, it was always a confidence boost for her to be recognised in this way, it even managed to settle her anxiety and in hand her erratic powers. As they passed by a group of specialists her eyes landed on two boys, one of which had blonde hair and held a rather innocent aura, the other appeared to be the exact opposite to the blonde with his brown hair and piercing green eyes that weren't afraid to stare straight into her own blue ones - something that not many people have the confidence to do. She decided to send him a wink before turning her head back to Beatrix before she could see his reaction.
"Found your prey already Mira?" Beatrix smiled at her best friend's flirtatious ways having not expected anything less. "You know exactly how I work." Elmira's reply made the two girls laugh rather loudly as they approached the office to find their room - ignoring all attention that still came their way. After a few moments of waiting it was made aware to the staff that it was a direct request from Beatrix's father-figure that they remain in a private suite and luckily for the staff it was obeyed. The anxious-looking staff member handed the two girls their schedules and told them how to reach their rooms before Elmira grabbed ahold of her suitcases once more and began making her way to the far right side of the building alongside her best friend in search of their suite.
It took them ten minutes to reach their room - a time that would most likely be shortened without the addition of Elmira's three large suitcases. With a small nod of their heads the girls opened the rather modest double doors together before parading inside to find a giant window seat which overlooked the grounds beautifully. A large living area was the first room they walked into, the furniture was surprisingly modern and stylish - something the two girls were beyond thankful for, having dreaded the thought of bland housing furniture. A bathroom was to the left of the loungeroom and the two bedrooms were on either side.
"Right or left?" Beatrix's voice pulled Elmira out of her slight astonished gaze as she pointed towards the bedrooms of their private suite. Elmira took the time to walk between the two rooms before meeting Beatrix back in the loungeroom. "The right bedroom has a balcony but the left one has the walk-in-wardrobe, what do you think?" Beatrix rolled her eyes at her best friend before she walked into her new room on the right knowing not to come between Elmira and her obsessive love of fashion.
Elmira wheeled her three suitcases into her new wardrobe before taking in the sight around her; surprisingly her room was already complete to the way she liked it and she assumed it had something to do with Beatrix's father's initial request. A large queen bed was up against the white-brick feature wall on the right, luxurious white curtains were on the windows as they created an incredible contrast between the light grey paint that donned the other three walls.
A small desk was set up on the left hand side of the room complete with a brand new laptop and picturesque photo frames sat filled with photos of Elmira's family and her times with Beatrix growing up, on the empty white-wood bookcase beside it. Elmira still needed to add the final personal touches such as her succulents and books but she knew she was lucky to have her own room let alone one this large and beautiful. Taking a quick glance between her suitcases and the large wardrobe connected to her room caused Elmira to sink on her bed in exhaustion at the thought of unpacking and organizing everything.
"I'd say the clothes could wait but we both know you'll change clothes before this lame introduction party tonight so we may as well get started." Beatrix walked over and held her hands out to help her best friend stand up. "It's not my fault, the clothes deserve to be worn." Elmira huffed before obliging and walking over to begin unpacking "Do you plan on joining me tonight or are you going to waltz off to the library and avoid all forms of socialization?" Her words made Beatrix pause and roll her eyes in her direction. "You know I have to find out where they're keeping Rosalind, unlike you I'm not here for parties and lessons of control."
Elmira sighed in defeat, she didn't completely agree with the idea of her best friend snooping around Alfea on her first day but she knew it was important for the air fairy's father and because of that, the blonde was determined to help her as much as she physically could whilst also learning to control her powers for the upcoming war they were heading towards.
"I know Andreas is important to you but don't you think it's a bit much to ask a 16 year old to do your dirty work?". Elmira's comment angered Beatrix slightly before she took a deep breath and calmed down her impulses reminding herself that it's only her best friend worrying about her. "I know Rosalind needs my help and Andreas knows I'm the best person to find her without causing too much unnecessary chaos. Besides that I've learnt not to question him, it's not like he'd give me a straight answer anyway."
A sense of sadness was written across Beatrix's face before Elmira hung up the clothes in her hands and pulled her in for a hug. "You know I will be here to support you Bea but you're my best friend and I worry about you." The two girls smiled as their hug turned into an embrace before slowly pulling away. "I know you mean well Mira and that's what I love you for, besides your impeccable ability to hold your alcohol of course."
The two girls laughed once more before making casual conversation as they slowly filled the large wardrobe in front of them. "Despite your secret mission can we make a pact?" The sudden change of tone in Elmira's voice concerned Beatrix before she turned to face her. "Whatever happens this year, no matter the chaos or secret missions we have to promise to stay together - to be there for each other." The two girls smiled at each other once again before Beatrix replied "Of course. We're forever."
The truth is Beatrix didn't know how her mission would go but she did know one thing, she'd always be there for Elmira and the blonde would always be there for her.
