I have my good and bad days but the hardest was saying goodbye to my parents. Their funeral was as beautiful as it could be. It took eight weeks to organise because of the investigations into the plane crash etcetera. Lochie has been my savior, my support through everything. Being pregnant and hormonal plus dealing with my parents passing, I'm sure I haven't been the best partner but he has stood by me and I can't be anymore thankful.
We told lochies parents about the baby and they were also ecstatic. I'm just glad our baby will have grandparents, they may not be my parents but they treat me like their own daughter and for that I am grateful.
Sitting here in the bedroom, I'm just waiting for Lochie to get home. We have our twenty week ultrasound appointment this afternoon and to say I'm excited is an understatement we both want to know what gender our baby is. Both of us don't care which gender we don't have a favorite as long as the baby is healthy that's all that matters in our eyes.

"Dana" "in the room" Lochie walked in straight up to me "are you okay?" "Yeah I'm alright are you ready to go?" "Yeah we best get out of here" I nodded.
"How was your day?" "Mainly just paperwork today so pretty boring. Yours?" "Same as always. Looking forward to finding out how our baby is going though and of course the gender" "me too".
Arriving at the clinic, I suddenly became nervous. what if I have done something wrong and our baby is not healthy. What if something is wrong and I could've done something differently, it would be all my fault. "Dana what's wrong?" "I just suddenly became nervous what if.." "no dana everything will be fine" I nodded.
"Appointment for dana blanche" "dana.. oh yes here she is. Please take a seat" Lochie grabbed my hand and we took a seat in the waiting room. "Everything will be perfect dana, you even gave up coffee" "much to my disappointment" Lochie Chuckled "hey I did it with you" "so if I go see sandy she will tell me you haven't had one at work" "yes. If you have to then I have too. We are in this together" I grinned "I'm gonna ask" he chuckled "I wouldn't lie to you" "I know".
"Dana blanche" "let's go find out" I nodded.
"Hi dana my name is Wendy I will be doing your ultrasound today" "hi Wendy this is my partner Lochie" "nice to meet you both please follow me". Following the radiologist to a room she instructed I lay on the bed. Doing as she asked I took my shoes off first then hopped on.
"Have you had an ultrasound prior to this one?" "Yes I have" "okay so you know what I am going to do. Can you please lift your shirt for me" lifting my shirt to just below my breasts the radiologist put some paper towel on the edge of my underwear pulling them just enough so she can get a good scan. Applying the gel to the probe she then put it on my stomach. Watching the screen Lochie held my hand doing the same.
"Do you want to know the gender of your baby?" "Yes please". Waiting patiently as the radiologist moved the probe into position she grinned "congratulations you are having a little girl" "a girl" I grinned at lochie "happy?" "Very but I would be happy with either or both" "one is enough for now Lochie" the radiologist and Lochie both laughed. "Your baby girl is healthy and looks very comfortable in there" "thankyou Wendy" "you are more than welcome. I will print some images for you" "thank you".
Cleaning up my stomach, Lochie grabbed the paper towel throwing it in the bin for me, as I fixed my shirt and put my shoes on.
"Here you go dana" looking at the images I couldn't help but smile "thank you" "take care and all the best for the future" I nodded.
Lochie put his arm around my lower back as we walked out of the clinic.
"Well there you go all your worries was for nothing, our baby girl is happy and healthy" "I know I just couldn't help but worry" "now you can relax" "I'm always relaxing" "we are going home to eat and have a spa" "are we?" "Yes" I just shook my head. Mister protective is at it again. "What are you shaking your head about?" "Nothing boss, nothing at all" he smirked "you still have a life time of this" "do I have a chance to back out" "nope you aren't going anywhere I'd chase you everywhere" "it's not like I can run" Lochie Chuckled.

Getting back to the apartment, I was in shock. my entire apartment had been decorated with a banner that sat on the far wall. "Will you marry me" I turned to look at lochie and he had a million dollar smile on his face. "Lochie" "dana I want you as my partner for life to love, to cherish and just spend everyday with you. I love you more than anything and I can't picture my life without you in it. Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" "Yes I will" he pulled me closer connecting his luscious lips with mine "you have just made me the happiest man on this planet" I grinned pressing my lips to his in a peck. "Who did all this?" Lochie smirked "congratulations guys" I turned to see corey standing in the doorway of our room with a massive grin on his face. "Thanks Corey" "thanks man" "I am happy for you both. So..." I grinned "we are having a little girl" "oh God help us" I laughed "with you around I'm sure she will know how to fight off all the guys" "I will be doing it" I just shook my head "I will leave you two alone but dana There's something for you on your bed" "for me?" Corey only grinned "congratulations again take care okay" "I will" corey gave me a hug and shook lochies hand before leaving.
"Do you know what is in our room?" "Maybe" he had a cheeky grin on his face "hmm okay".
Walking to our room there sitting in the middle of the bed in a red box sat the most elegant ring I have ever seen.
"Lochie" turning around Lochie was right behind me. He leant past me grabbing the box pulling the ring out of it and grabbed my left hand slowly putting the ring on my finger. "It's beautiful" "it suits you well" I grinned "I love it, I love you" "I love you" Lochie pressed his lips on mine.
"I have an idea that I'd hope you agree to" "what is that?" "I have a name in mind for our daughter" "what is it?" "Marielle" a lump got caught in my throat he mixed his our moms names together "I think it's perfect" he grinned "I'm glad you think so. Let's go have a spa" "what about food?" "It can wait" "okay".
Lochie grabbed my hand both of us walking to the bathroom there in the spa sat rose petals on the water. He had planned all this. "I think you owe your brother big time" Lochie Chuckled "no I don't, he offered to do all this for us" "he is a great person" "yeah he is". Stripping out of our clothes, Lochie got in first and then I joined him, my back against his chest. Lochie wrapped his arms around me. "Mmm you look absolutely gorgeous" "I don't think so" "dana you are perfect more so with our beautiful girl growing inside of you" I grinned. Lochie lightly kissed my shoulder slowly brushing his lips up to my neck sucking lightly just below my ear.
How did I ever get so lucky. This guy spoils me and always showers me with love. I know once Marielle comes along we won't always get this time to ourselves but we will love her unconditionally. None of us know what the future will hold for all of us but taking it one day at a time, side by side, I know we can get through anything stronger than ever.
