"Hi dana" "Lochie there's something wrong" "dana are you okay?" "No I'm argh.. I'm umm cramping really friggin bad and the blood won't stop it's really hurting" "I will be there soon" I hung up the phone instantly rushing out of work. I could hear the pain in her voice. I honestly thought it might just be a bad month for her period but I know dana is usually fine when she has them. Getting to the apartments, I typed in the code and ran in shutting the door behind me. Walking straight into her room I heard the shower running and walked into the bathroom. Dana was sitting on the floor of the shower, with blood covering the floor, her clothes sitting in the corner.

"Shit dana" "it's hurts Lochie" I could hear the pain in her voice and she never opened her eyes "Im going to call a doctor".

"Hi you are speaking with freya how can I help you?" "I need a doctor asap" "where to sir?" "Serene apartments, Floor twenty three, apartment two" "we can have a doctor there in fifteen minutes" "make it soon" "yes sir". Hanging up the phone, I called the security letting them know to send the doctor straight up then went to join dana throwing my phone and wallet on the dresser before walking back into the bathroom. she was now on her shins bending over. Not caring about my clothes I stepped in putting my hand on her back. "Dana a doctor will be here shortly" "it really hurts Lochie" "we'll work out what's wrong" "argh f*ck" for her to swear it would have to be bad. I wanted to wrap my arms around her but I know she is in pain and I don't want to cause anymore. Comforting her as much as I could until I heard a knock at the door. I let dana know I will be back then grabbed a towel and went to the door.
"Hi sir my name is doctor Samantha I was requested to come here" "yes please my partner is bleeding and in a lot of pain" "please show me where she is".
Closing the door, I took samantha to the bathroom. "Oh my". Samantha didn't hesitate just got into the shower with dana. "Hi dana my name is doctor Samantha" "hi" "can you tell me what has been happening?" "Severe cramping and then the blood just started. It really hurts doctor" the doctor looked at me with a sad expression and I wasn't sure what it meant. "Dana can I ask you a question?" "Yeah" "when was your last period" "this isn't my normal period" "no but I need to know when you had it last" "argh ahh I don't know umm I usually get it at the end of the month" f*ck this isn't what I think it is it.
"Dana did you get it two weeks ago?" "No" "dana I believe you are having a miscarriage". "What?" The doctor looked at me with the same expression as before "I'm sorry sir but what's happening now is exactly what happens in a miscarriage, by the sound of it she would've been about eight weeks" a lump formed in my throat, my heart ached for not only dana but she is losing our baby. None of us, even knew she was pregnant. I could hear some sobs coming from dana And i knew it was killing her. she is the most caring, sweet person I have met, it would be destroying her more so than I.
The doctor got out of the shower looking at me. "Sir can we go talk privately" I nodded. Walking out of the bathroom the doctor spoke. "I'm sorry about your loss sir" "Lochie" the doctor nodded "the cramps will stick around for a while as well as the blood. The best thing she can do is rest with some heat and have some pain relief. I will need her to come to the hospital. possibly tomorrow, so I can make sure she doesn't get an infection" I nodded "if you need to ask any questions or need help please give me a call on my direct line" doctor Samantha handed me a business card with her name and number on it. "I will let you go comfort her and yourself" "thank you". Walking the doctor out, I locked the door then headed straight back to dana wrapping my arms around her. "A baby Lochie" "I know dana" "I'm so sorry" I just shook my head "we didn't know. Come here" I gently pulled dana in between my legs her head resting on my chest. I didn't care about the blood. I can't believe she said sorry, it's not her fault. we are both at a loss. "If I didn't go to jiu jitsu" "no dana don't think like that. Let's get through this together okay. It's no one's fault we didn't even know" dana just sat silent in my arms. None of us needed to say anything, I just continued to hold her and kiss her head. Feeling the water start to cool dana spoke up. "We should get out" "do you need some pain relief?" Dana only nodded "I will get you some" standing up dana, did the same with my help. Getting out, I removed my soaking wet clothes then grabbed us both a towel, putting one around dana first then myself. "I'm ahh I'm going to get some clothes on" "okay I will get you some relief" "thank you".

Dana

I lost a baby. I didn't even know I was pregnant. If I didn't go to jiu jitsu this wouldn't have happened but Lochie is right we didn't know. I still feel really upset about it though. its a life and it didn't even get to make it. Putting a sports bra on some underwear with a pad and thick track suit pants I sat down on the bed the less clothing I have around my lower stomach the better. The cramps have calmed but they are still there and probably will be for a little bit. "Dana" "yeah?" "Here" Lochie walked around in front of me, handing me two tablets and some water "thank you".
"Do you have a wheat bag here?" I shook my head "no" "I'm going to go get you one" "you don't.." "yes I do, you are going to need the heat to help with the cramps" I nodded "thank you Lochie I really appreciate it" "I'd do anything for you". Lochie gave me a kiss on the forehead "I will be back shortly" "okay".
Taking the tablets, I placed the packet on my bedside table grabbed my phone then laid down on the bed. I needed to do some research.
Looking up some information about miscarriages the doctor was right and so was Lochie. I also read, i won't be able to do any strenuous exercise for at least two weeks which means I won't be able to go to jiu jitsu but I will need to do some light exercise only after the bleeding and cramps go. It could last a week at least, which means I won't be able to do much, at least I can still work. I'm going to have to let corey know, I won't be there for the next few weeks.

To my surprise corey replied instantly
Corey - dana I hope everything is okay it's unlike you not to attend. the spots will be yours for when you are ready to come back.

Corey - you too dana hopefully I will see you soon.

Hearing the front door open, I knew it would be Lochie. After a few minutes he came into the room with a wheat bag.
"Have the tablets started to work?" "Yeah a little" "here you go" "thank you Lochie. I let your brother know I won't be there for a few weeks" "did you tell him?" "No I just told him I couldn't be there" Lochie nodded.
I put the wheat bag on my lower stomach while Lochie came to lay down beside me. "How are you feeling dana?" "Sore and a lot of mixed emotions" "we will get through this together" "how are you feeling?" "As expected, I know we didn't know but it still kills me inside" I nodded not sure what to say.
"The doctor has asked that we go see her tomorrow" "okay we can do that". Lochie moved closer putting his hand on my side. "If you need anything please tell me" "I will" "we should eat" "I'm not really hungry" "you didn't eat when you got home" "I know, I had all intentions too" "I will go make us something light" I nodded
