Her Inevitable Fall

KABANATA 5

I bought three new books at a known bookstore while Mabele just on my side commenting on the items I chose. Hindi talaga mahilig sa formal na papel itong kaibigan ko, pero cum laude to siya, mas gusto nito ang make-up, who wouldn't, even I is into make-ups. Ang saya kaya nilang paglaruan and it enhance one's beauty. Kaya naman pagkatapos namin sa loob ng bookstore ay dumeretso na kame sa bilihan ng kilalang make-ups. At hayun nga meron siyang inuwing bagong limang lipsticks in red shades at siyempre ako ay meron din tatlo in lighter red shades.

Dito nga kame sa mall agad pumunta pagkatos naming iwan si Abellano sa opisina ko. At hindi ko na rin alam kung nasaan na 'sya ngayon at wala akong pakialam.

Pagkatapos namin sa make-up section ay pumasok na kame sa loob ng restaurant. We were seated on the far end corner of the restaurant. When we've settled ay um-order na kame ng pagkain na kakainin namin. We always select this place for its tasty foods.

The waiter brought our food and in no time we devour them together. A lot of talks covered the dinner. Mabele shared about her recent boyfriend whom she met three weeks ago. And they will go on a date after our dinner. So after dinner dumiretso na kame sa parking lot but we're waiting for her boyfriend in one corner. He will come to get her, that's the reason why she didn't bring her car with her.

"Finally! Andito na 'sya Thyian. Ipapakilala kita kay Romeo," kinikilig na sabi niya.

Pumara ang isang black Ford sa harap namin at bumaba doon ang isang pamilyar na lalake. 'Wait, saan ko ba nakita ang lalakeng ito?' Tanong ko sa sarili. Yes I remember sa St. Roque University ko nga nakita ang lalaking ito kung saan ako inimbitahan magbigay ng isang talk. Ito talagang si Mabele pini-personal ang mga taong pinagtatrabahuan namin.

"Hi, Babe!" bati ni Mabele sa bagong dating at binigyan ng halik. "Thyian this is Romeo. Babe, I think you remembered Thyian during your foundation day," pagpapakilala ni Mabele sa akin at kay Romeo.

Romeo waved at me so I returned a friendly wave at him.

"Thanks, Thyian, for taking good of Mabele," sabi ni Romeo.

"Not a single problem. Keep safe on your way," I said and show the I will call you hand sign to Mabele.

She waved me goodbye and got inside the Ford. I walked where my car was and so ready to drive home. I reached my unit at 9:00 in the evening and decided to do a little reading with the new books I bought. And in the middle of my reading, I devise a plan for tomorrow's jog with Reye. When I came up with the best idea I decided to end my night with the best sleep.

The following day I woke up with an entire plan in my head. Five minutes before my usual 5 am run I heard a soft knocked on my door. For sure, it's Reye all so ready for this morning run. I was working with my right shoelace. When everything was done I opened my door and found Reye leaning on the wall.

I closed the door and greeted him with a smile, "Good morning, Reye!"

He stood beside me. "Good morning, Thyian! Are you ready?" he said with a wide smile.

I nodded and replied, "Yup! All so ready!"
