Scott's POV

Today is the day... I can't believe I'm actually graduating!

Its difficult for me to believe that I'm finally graduating from this shitty school. It feels like I've been on some kind of journey, yet it also feels as if I have just walked through a whole nightmare. I can't wait to leave this place.

A couple of weeks back, Clay and the others held a party to celebrate my success during the last baseball game we had against Hillcrest, but also to celebrate the fact that I got into standford university. Compared to the other parties I have been to in my lifetime, that one was by far the best one I've been to yet. I'm only saying this because of how the other ones I've been to were like. When I used to hang out with Bryce and his gang, he held parties at his house almost every weekend, and almost everyone in our grade came. The most common things that happened at those parties were drinking, the guys making out with other girls, and them snorting cocaine. I hated doing any of that stuff with them. I do remember maybe making out with one girl but it didn't feel right, snorting cocaine and doing drugs with them didn't feel right either. I'm just glad that I found a different crowd to be with this year before I leave this place. The memories I've made with Clay and the others have been better then I thought they would be, they are ones worth keeping in my life.

One main thing that I look forward to today is getting up on that stage, getting my diploma, and getting everything over and done with. I knew that as soon as I stepped off that stage I'd be free to do whatever I wanted to. No more drama, no more homework (for now at least), and no more stress.

But there was one problem, I knew that this feeling wouldn't last long. Why? Well my parents are sending me to Stanford way earlier then I wanted to. I'm leaving tomorrow. I'd say driving only takes about 3 hours to get there, which I don't have much of a problem driving back and fourth since it's not at far as I thought it would be in the first place. But my parents really want me to get settled in before I officially start in September. Or maybe they just want to get rid of me? Guess I'll never know.

I walked towards the rows of chairs that were seated along the middle of the football field, and I couldn't believe how they were organized so perfectly, for such an imperfect school. Students in blue gowns were scattered all over the field, including me. Then there was Clay, Justin, Tony, Alex, Zach, Jessica, Charlie and Tyler were all sitting on the stands watching the grad ceremony. They all agreed to be there for me and Jeff, which poked me in the heart a little. Let's just say it made us both very happy!

"Hey man you ready for this?" Jeff panted as he caught up to me. I laughed I mean, why wouldn't I be ready? "More then you could ever know" I replied.

He stopped walking and turned to me. "In a way I think I do know" he said, "You'd finally get to get away from Monty and Bryce". How well does he know me again?

"Well... actually yes, your right. But I also just generally need to get out of this shitty school, as i have mentioned a million times before". I know I have mentioned that same sentence a lot, but it's all so true.

"Well I don't blame you Scotty, I mean at least you got to spend this past month without them giving you shit for the remainder of the year"

We then continued to walk our way down to the rows of chairs. "Where should we sit dude?" I asked Jeff. All he did was give me a small shrug. We scanned for chairs through the large groups of seniors that gathered around the field, each talking about how excited they were to leave.

"Where ever you want-, actually we should sit on the other end it's way less crowded" he finally said to me. We began sliding our way through the chairs and around the people, before getting to a couple chairs in the back and taking a seat in them. The suns rays blurred through the blue sky, it was beginning to get super hot outside. I took that as a sign to check out the weather app I had on my phone, to see that it was suppose to be 31 degrees today. California life I tell ya.
