Part 4- Bodyguard

The next day

Clays POV

"Wake up dumbass we have school"

I woke up the next day but this time, it wasn't to the bright light in my room, or realizing Justin left without me, Justin woke me up. Which is a little bit of a surprise for me since he usually leaves without me as a "joke".

I sat up in my bed and wiped my eyes "ok one, why didn't you leave without me today, and two, how am I a dumbass?"

"Well, I didn't need you running to school again, since people thought you were having a heart attack in the parking lot" Justin spoke as he was putting on his sweater.

I stood up and started to make my bed "Well thanks, but how am I a dumbass?"

"Your dumb, your an ass, dumbass" 

I rolled my eyes "wow thanks"

We both walked downstairs and to the kitchen and began eating breakfast, I ended up having toast while Justin made himself scrambled eggs. Not long after we finished eating, Justin opened his mouth once again.

"What were you doing on your phone last night? You kept smiling a lot" said Justin. 

Shit he was awake? I never even noticed "dude, why would you be watching me on my phone in the middle of the night?" 

"Well we literally live in the same room and house now, so it ain't my fault" 

"Why were you smiling at your phone a lot though?" He asked repeating the question from earlier.

"It was nothing. Just forget about it I was just texting someone" I said nervously. 

I knew right away I shouldn't have said that, Justin ran over and snatched my phone out of my hand, running away laughing. 

"WHAT THE HELL JUSTIN!" I yelled after him "GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE YOU ASSHOLE!" 

Justin laughed hard, then ran into the bathroom and locked himself in there with my phone. "Ima find out who you texted last night" said Justin laughing again. 

"Oh my god fuck you" I said as I tried to open the door. 

After a minute of pounding on the door and yelling at him, I gave up and decided to wait for him to open it himself and give me back my phone. I was extremely annoyed by him, but nervous as well. Another minute of waiting, I hear the bathroom door open, Justin walks out with a large grin placed on his face.

"W-what"  

"Hmmm sooo Scott is your bodyguard now. And he cares about you hmm" He said while raising his eyebrows at me jokingly.

 "God don't get the wrong idea Justin" I grabbed my phone out of his hand and began walking towards the front door. 

"But you like Scott right?" He asks again mockingly.

I rolled my eyes and slammed the front door into his face, I started walking down the sidewalk without him, I was just done with his teasing. Not long after I could hear his footsteps on the pavement running to catch up to me, so I decided to stop and wait for him.

Once he caught up, he began walking beside me catching his breath "hey chill I was joking. But  honestly, It seems like Scotty likes you".

I could feel my heart start to beat faster "how do you know?".

"Just the way he's acting towards you clay, think of the things he says to you and how he acts" as he answered my question he raised his eyebrows and gave me that "its obvious" look on his face. 

"Ok well I guess you got a point but you don't even know his sexuality. He could be straight and only mean this as friends" 

Justin mentioned in a serious voice "I know Scott Reed better then you do clay. So trust me" 

"Ok fine, i trust you" I didn't pay mind to what Justin said to me, I don't think Scott would like me in that way since he's straight, right?

(Time skip to 20 minutes later)

I get to front doors of the school with Justin and we both go our own ways. I started walking down the crowded hallways to my locker, once I made it I began waiting patiently for Scott to meet me here. 2 minutes past by and I started to wonder where he was, I thought he was gonna be my "body guard" as he said. Oh well, maybe he's sick or some crap or he changed his mind, I kept waiting at my locker for him anyway, just in case.

Well shit, I look across the hallway to see Monty and a couple of his friends staring at me laughing, my stomach started to twist as I noticed Monty beginning to walk over in my direction.. Well, here we go again, I'm gonna get beat to shit all over aga-

"Clay!" I heard someone yell behind me 

I looked at Monty and he stopped walking, turned around and went back to Bryce. Then I turned to see who was there. And it's Scott, he came running up to me. 

"Hey clay sorry, my alarm didn't work properly this morning" As he said that, he turned to Monty and gave him a glare, a death glare almost. I felt pretty happy when he did that I must say.

 "It's no big deal, my alarm sometimes doesn't work either, Aka Justin, He's suppose to wake me up every morning, but he leaves without me sometimes and i almost end up late" 

"Doesn't that explain why I seen you running to school yesterday?" He laughed

I felt embarrassed but I went along with it "Shit, you seen that? Well yeah, but luckily today he decided to wake me up, thank god" I said in relief. 

"Seems like a miracle for you" he joked

"Yup, it really is" I responded

We continued walking down the hallways of liberty, chatting and chatting, until we arrived at my morning class, which was English. 

"I'll meet you outside your class once the bell rings for 2nd period I guess" Scott tells me as he starts walking towards his own class.

I wave at him "sounds good, see y'a"

He smiles at me one last time before turning away and walking towards his class, I watched him as he disappeared into the crowded hallway. One things for sure now, I couldn't wait to talk to him again.
