Part 22- Celebration

Clays POV

It's been almost over one month since Scott won his major victory at the game. I never ever thought I would be saying this anytime soon, but things have really been starting to go uphill for him, for the both of us really. Scott got accepted into Stanford University over in San Francisco. He had a meeting (or interview) with the college professors that watched the game; they seemed to be highly interested and impressed at the amount of skill and talent he holds in baseball, so they made an exception for him. As for the both of us, Bryce has officially left us alone for now. Maybe he has tried to approach us at some points but it always ended up failing as we were always together in a group with Justin and Tony, and I don't think Bryce could take on four people at once. But, Bryce is also officially out of liberty high. His parents are transferring him over to Hillcrest due to certain reasons, one of them being he needs to repeat senior year completely since he did a shit job at trying to keep his grades up. But the other reasons are some I don't enjoy speaking about often. Monty has calmed down and has been leaving me and Scott alone for most of the time, he's more back to being normal Monty I'll say. Still a dick, still calling people fags and stuff, still making sick jokes, but he doesn't try to kill me now thank god. Guess he just got bored of being angry at me and Scott.

Today is June 1st, and it is a special day, well I hope it will be. 

Today is the day that my friends and I will be hosting a party for Scott to celebrate his victory. As about a month ago, we did promise him that we would do this for him even if he didn't need us to. This party won't be public or any party like how Bryces parties always were, this party will be pretty chill with just a few friends and family. People that are close to us. Me and Justin have agreed that the party would be set up on the beach of the Santa Cruz board walk, the same one where I had the best time of my life a couple months back. 

Tony and I arrived early this morning to set up everything down at the end of the beach where there were less crowds of people, but also where it was a little less windy so nothing got blown over. Justin ended up arriving with our parents a little bit after noon, they all brought us McDonald's for lunch assuming we were hungry, and of course we were after all of that hard work of setting things up. 

My dad smiled widely at our work that we have accomplished for the party, he examined the chairs and tables that we all have set up for all of our guests that we expect to arrive this evening. We also brought a few footballs, frisbees and a few other things that we could all use to throw around to each other once the party starts. Tony brought some drinks over and the snacks, he also brought over a barbecue for the party so we could cook some dinner for later. I'm honestly impressed with what we've done as well. "You boys have really out done yourselves with this party I must say" Matt beams. 

Tony replies with pride, "Thanks Mr Jensen, we are really glad you are impressed with our work".  "Yeah no kidding, thanks dad" I add. It wasn't much longer until my mom walked up to me and pulled me into her embrace, "Clay, honey I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of you, Justin, and tony for setting this all up for everyone". I return the hug quickly, "Me too mom. Are you and dad going to stay for a bit?" I ask. "We would if we could Clay, but your father and I have to work this evening. We just came by to say hello quickly and to see how things were doing" Elaine replied. 

Justin soon walked over to our parents before they left to thank them for driving him over here, since he had no other way of getting here anyways. My mom left my embrace to go to my dad, who was waiting at the car for her. They waved bye to us all before leaving the beach. I smiled to myself before pacing down to the edge of the water, dipping my feet in and watching the tall waves crash over the sandbars in the distance.

"You excited for the party this evening?"

I turn to see Tony and Justin who have joined me, also dipping their feet in the water.
