It's Not Over Yet

Janson went back to the Immunes' holding room. All of the doors were open and guards were laying on the floor. He opened up the vault. Three guards were bound and gagged on the floor. Two were unconscious, while one wasn't. All of the shelves were empty.

"Shut up." Janson said to the one guard, who was trying to talk through his gag.

He felt his blood start to boil when he realized the damage that Thomas and his friends have done. He turned around to see Dr. Ava Paige standing at the vault door.

"They're not out yet." Janson said, then walked out of the room.

The group was running as fast as they could. They had to stop to catch their breath. They all sat up against cement plant holders to hide because there were some helicopters and patrol cars going by.

"Well, they're definitely mad." Gally said.

"How far are the tunnels?" Thomas asked as he took off his gloves.

"Uh, maybe twelve blocks from here." Gally estimated.

Their focus moved to Newt, who was coughing and sweating up a storm.

"We can make it." Gally assured.

Minho kneeled in front of Newt.

"Newt, how are you feeling?" he asked.

"Terrible. It's good to see you though." Newt answered, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Minho went over to Thomas and Gally.

"Hey. How long has he been like this?" he asked them.

"He'll be okay. We just gotta get to Brenda, she's got the serum." Thomas said as he took off his jacket.

Joel and Luke sat beside Mallory.

"So, who are you guys?" she asked them as she took off her jacket.

The two of men looked at each other and gave an assuring nod. They stood up and helped Mallory stand up as well.

Joel took her hands into his.

"Mallory, I'm your dad." he said.

When she heard that, she felt like she got punched in the gut.

Luke chimed in. "And, I'm your uncle."

Then, it hit her.

"You guys are the men from my dreams? The ones that always sing?" Mallory asked.

Joel pulled her into a tight hug.

"I can't believe the plan worked." he said into her shoulder.

Thomas unfortunately had to interrupt their reunion.

"Uhh, guys. I don't mean to interrupt, but we have more important things to worry about." he said, pointing to Newt.

Mallory let go from her family's embrace to go down to Newt.

"Hey, Newt. Are you doing okay?" she asked.

"Well, I've been better." he answered.

"You're doing great, okay? Don't ever forget that." Mallory said.

Newt managed to put on a brave face for her. Then, he pulled her into a hug.

"This isn't over yet. Please keep on fighting. I can't lose you now when we're this close." Mallory said into his shoulder.

Newt didn't say anything, but he squeezed her a little tighter.

They let go from their hug and Mallory suddenly remembered something. She went over to Thomas, Minho, and Gally.
