Mallory followed her to a small hut, away from the boys' sleeping area. Teresa opened the door. It had two small beds, a dresser, and some candles for light.
"Night." Teresa said, while climbing into her bed.
"Good night. Thanks again for letting me room with you." Mallory said as she climbed into the spare bed.
Teresa has already fallen asleep, so she didn't get to answer her.
Mallory wanted to look in her bag one more time. She checked to make sure Teresa was asleep. That was confirmed with snoring. Mallory pulled out the letter and read it to herself again. She was looking back and forth between the letter and her necklace. Mallory thought of some questions in her head.
'Who's J and L? Why am I priceless? Is this necklace a symbol of something?'
She eventually gave into her tiredness and fell asleep.

The men fall into water and sank. It was like they were saying the echo, as they were sinking deeper into the water.

Mallory jerked herself awake, as if she was gasping for air. Her face was soaked with sweat. She controlled her breathing and wiped her forehead. It looked like the sun was about to come up. Once she got control of herself, Mallory laid back in her bed and closed her eyes.
Soon enough, the sun had risen and a new day was ahead of everyone. Teresa and Mallory woke up and got ready. They walked out to the kitchen to get breakfast and sat down at a picnic table.
"So, how did you sleep?" Teresa said to start a conversation.
"Okay." Mallory answered.
"I'm just asking, but what's in your bag?" Teresa asked.
