Ceasefire

A WICKED guard came up from behind Thomas. He elbowed the guard in the face and pulled out Jorge's explosive device.

"Get back! Everyone, stand back!" Thomas yelled.

"Hold your fire! Hold your fire!" Janson ordered the guards.

"Stand back! Let them go!" Thomas demanded.

"Thomas, put it down." Janson said.

"LET THEM ALL GO!" Thomas yelled.

"You know I can't do that." Dr. Ava Paige said.

"Thomas, please stop. I made a deal with them. They promised we'd safe, all of us." Teresa said to reason with him.

"So, I'm supposed to trust you now?" Thomas questioned.

"It's true. It was her only condition." Dr. Ava Paige said.

"SHUT UP!" Thomas yelled.

"Everything can go back to the way it was. Thomas, do you really want all of them to die?" Dr. Ava Paige said.

"Listen to her, Thomas. Think about what you're doing." Janson said.

Mallory got up from the ground and stood on Thomas's left side. Frypan stood beside her. Newt and Minho were on their friend's right side.

"We're with you, Thomas." Newt told him.

"No." Teresa softly said.

"Don't." Dr. Ava Paige said.

"Do it, Thomas." Minho told him.

"We're ready." Frypan said.

"End this fight." Mallory said.

"We're not going back there. It's the only way." Thomas said.

He held up the explosive device's trigger. Everyone around him closed their eyes shut, anticipating the blast. He was about to put pressure on the button.

"THOMAS!" Dr. Ava Paige yelled to get him to stop.

Then, something interrupted that.

It was Jorge driving a truck through the base. He ran it into a helicopter, which tipped it over. The propellers caused more dirt and scrap metal to fly through the air.

Everyone ducked for cover and the Right Arm people started to fight back again. Some WICKED guards made Teresa, Dr. Ava Paige, and Janson run back to the berg for safety.

A guard stood in front of Thomas.

"Freeze! Drop it, kid!" he demanded.

Thomas took the chance to use the explosive device.

"Run! Get down!" he yelled to anyone around him.

He pushes the trigger button to activate the explosive device. Then, an explosion occurred.

Jorge came out of the truck. He was laughing to himself.
