The Priceless Variable

No Turning Back

The surviving Gladers were going through the wreckage to see if there's anything they could salvage. Gally was at the Maze wall, crossing off all the names of the people that they lost the night before.

Chester was forcibly escorting Teresa, and Jarvis was forcibly escorting Mallory to the Maze doors. Henry and Michael were dragging Thomas, who was pretending to be unconscious. They dropped him on the ground by three wooden posts. 

Gally looked down at Thomas.

"This is such a waste." he said, putting his knife back in his pocket.

Teresa and Mallory looked each other. More Gladers were walking towards the doors to see what was going to happen.

"Gally." Winston spoke up. "It doesn't feel right, man."

"Yeah. What if Thomas is right. Maybe he could lead us home." Jeff said.

"We are home, okay. I don't wanna have to cross anymore names off that wall." Gally said.

"You really think banishing us is going to solve anything?" Mallory questioned.

Gally made eye contact with her.

"No. This isn't a banishing. It's an offering." he corrected.

With that, Chester and Jarvis pushed the girls against two wooden posts.

"What? Wait! Gally, what are you doing?" Teresa asked frantically.

Their arms were raised above their heads and their hands were bound with rope.

"You really think I'm gonna let Thomas back into the Maze after what he's done?" Gally scolded at the girls as they were being tied up.

He turned to his fellow Gladers.

"Look around you! Look at our Glade." he said, pointing out the damage.

Newt and Minho were giving a signal to each other. Chuck was waiting off to the side with backpacks and spears. Newt didn't like seeing Mallory get tied up, but it was apart of the plan.

"This is the only way. And, when the Grievers get what they came here for, everything goes back to the way it was." Gally explained to everyone.

"Are you listening to this? Why are you all just standing there? He's crazy!" Teresa barked.

"Will you shut up?" Gally said to her.

"If you stay here, the Grievers are gonna come back. They're gonna to come back, and they're gonna to keep coming back until you're all dead." Mallory barked.

"SHUT UP!" Gally yelled at them.

His focus turned to Henry and Michael.

"Tie him up." Gally ordered the two of them.

The two of them just stood there.

"Didn't you hear me? I said TIE HIM UP!" Gally demanded.

As Henry and Michael picked up him off the ground, Thomas came to life and elbowed Michael in the stomach, and hit him the face with a spear.

Newt got out his machete and elbowed Henry in the back.

Teresa and Mallory kicked Chester and Jarvis in the privates.

Minho set his machete on Gally's shoulder, so that he wouldn't make any sudden movements.

Thomas stood in front of the Maze doors with his spear pointed at Gally.

Frypan got Teresa free and Newt did the same with Mallory.

Chuck ran over to them with the supplies.
