Danger?
Your mother and I never told you about the real reason we left. Your mother doesn't know I have sent this and she cannot know. There are things at that school that are evil. Things that Dumbledore will never tell you. You must understand the danger you are in being at Hogwarts. You are lucky we created ties with the Weasley's, a trusted, good group who will help you. I hope that you are familiar with Harry Potter. He will help you the most of all.
Best wishes,
Gregory y/l/n
I lean back in the library chair taking in the words written before me. This had to be a prank. A joke. Something concocted by the twins. None of it makes any sense.
"Hey, you ok?" I turn around and see Blaise standing awkwardly behind me.
"Hey, yeah I'm fine." I shove the letter in my jeans pocket and Blaise sits across from me.
"Good, good. Is everything ok with you and Draco?" He asks and I roll my eyes.
"I know you talked to him about the situation, so no." I say and Blaise sighs.
"Why would you let him do that. You must've known I didn't feel that way." I say and cross my arms.
Blaise pulls out a cigarette and lighter from his pocket. "Let's have a smoke." He says and I nod. We walk out to the balcony and the cold air immediately hits me. I'm still not used to the fall weather yet.
He lights the cigarette and takes a long inhale.
"I didn't really talk to him about his ambush on you. He talked about you like you guys had this connection but I guess that wasn't true." He says and I gawk at him.
"Of course he would say that. I saw it too. I knew he liked me but I just hoped that he would give up." I say and take a drag.
"I love that little asshole but he's very self involved. He doesn't really see what's really happening around him. You could've given him a million signs and he'd still be hopeless for you." Blaise says and I nod.
"I just miss the way things used to be. I can already feel everything changing." I say and he sighs.
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad." He says and I run my hand through my hair.
"He said he wished he could be Cedric. I asked why and he said because then I would want him." I say and chew on the inside of my lip.
"Fuck that's pretty bad." He says and I nod.
"Yeah. I think I like freaked him out cause I told him the only reason he likes me is because he can't tell the difference between affection and attraction." I say and Blaise's face drops.
"That's um... Cold." He says and I gasp.
"Says you!" I raise my voice.
"Ok ok. I would never tell one of my friend's that though." He says.
"What would you say then?"
"I don't know probably, 'I don't feel the same but I hope we can still be friends'." He shrugs.
"Fine, but you weren't there to hear it all." He nods and looks at his watch.
"Shit, we should get going to quidditch practice." I jump up.
"I thought it was optional. Isn't the season over?" I say.
"Nothing is optional when it comes to quidditch. Plus it's casual. No uniforms, no crowds, it'll be fine." Blaise puts out the cigarette and we leave the balcony.
