March 3

Over these past three days all of the Valentine's sweethearts have been breaking up in rapid speed. Which has resulted in none of the bathrooms being safe from crying girls.

I walk into the library after a rough day of classes. Now that it's nearing the end of the year the teachers have been assigning obnoxious amounts of work.

There are only a few fourth years sitting in the research area, so I sit on one of couches and get to work on some transfigurations homework. I feel my eyelids get heavy and decide to just rest my eyes.

I jolt up and look out the library window. It was dark already? God I've been losing time lately.

I rub my tired eyes and pack up my books to leave. I haven't been getting much sleep lately. I keep feeling like I'm being watched. No matter where I go there is just this unsettling feeling hovering over me.

"Just a few more months." I whisper to myself while I'm walking down a hallway.

"Talking to yourself again, y/n? I always knew you were a strange one." Draco walks beside me.

"Hey, Draco." I say and bite the inside of my cheek.

"You've been avoiding me." He says and I furrow my eyebrows.

"No I haven't." I say, defensively.

"Fine, you've been avoiding everyone. If you need space that's fine. But a warning is nice." Oh.

"I don't mean to. You know, this has happened before. Last year at school I just kind of lost everyone and I had no idea why. I like subconsciously made myself alone, I think." This confession, spills out of me. Like it's been swirling around in my brain for a while.

"It's really ok. It's a stressful time." He gives me a week smile and we go into the common room.

I give him a tiny, awkward wave and go into my room to crawl into bed. It's still pretty early but I'm so tired. Yet, not tired enough to actually go to sleep. I guess I can just stare at my ceiling for a little while.

"Y/n!" Hermione runs up to me and I give her a warm smile.

"Goodness, I am just having the best week! I did amazing on the potions quiz and I'm so exited for the exam." Hermione really is something.

"That's great, Mione." She looks disappointed by my unenthused reply.

"Anyway, Harry really wants to get the map back." She says and I readjust the stack of text books in my arms.

"I'm not really up for schemes right now." I say and she nods with her lips pursed.

"Yeah, I noticed." Her words create a lump in my throat.

"I thought he was going to take it from Lupins office." I say, remembering our conversation in the library.

"He tried, couldn't find the bloody thing." I nod and push open the doors, entering Lupins classroom.

"God, not even the teachers can get here on time." I pretend to agree but I really don't mind the extra minutes of free time.

Hermione and I sit at a table, right behind Ron and Harry. They turn around to face us.

"Y/n, no offense but you look really tired." Ron says.

"I guess everyone has an opinion today." I say, making them laugh.

"So sorry for my poor punctuality, class. Today we will be finishing up our lesson and you will each get to demonstrate what you've learned so far." I sigh and sit up straight in my chair, trying to keep my eyes open.

Once classes were over for the day I decided to take some time for myself and read in the courtyard.

"Y/n! I need to talk to you!" Pansy comes over to me. I guess I'm extra popular today.

"What's up?" I ask, closing my book and patting a space on the bench. She sits and flips a pile of black hair over her shoulder.

"So, I don't know if you've noticed but I have been sleeping in the common room." She says this like she doesn't sleep in different dorms or common rooms all the time.

"No, I haven't, I'm sorry. Is something wrong?" I ask and she shakes her head.

"You've been reciting spells in your sleep. Sometimes it's soft and mumbled and other times you'll yell like super loud." My eyes widen and I shift my weight.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask.

"I thought you knew. I mean you've been staying up so late these past nights I thought you were just trying to stop." She says and I exhale.

"No, I have just been practically dead lately." I massage my forehead.

"It's probably the exhaustion from the spells. Super common, but not a good sign. Just take it easy, ok?" She pats my shoulder and walks away.

Fuck. I need help.

"Luna!" I run up the stairs leading to the Ravenclaw common room.

"Lu-" I push open the door which is slightly adgar.

"You little bitch." Bella sits on the edge of her chair.

"I need to talk to Luna." I say puffing out my chest, trying not to look terrified of her.

"I heard you and Diggory haven't spoken since Christmas." I cross my arms not responding.

"I still need to speak to Lu-"

"I heard you screaming up the stairs. That's why I opened the door." She blows a piece of blonde hair off her face.

"Thanks?" I say.

"You're not welcome." I roll my eyes and go up to the girls dorm.

"Luna? I have a question." I say right as I walk in.

"About what?" She doesn't look up from her scrap book making.

"Do you know anything about what it means if someone is reciting spells in their sleep?" I ask and she looks up.

"Oh no. This not good. Not good at all." I watch as she packs up her colorful paper and Polaroids.

"Come with me."

I have spent the last three weeks revising this story, trying to make everything fit together so if you re-read some things might have changed 😌🙏
