Chapter 13- The Ball

Chapter 20 is after this one

It was two hours before the ball and Ginny, Luna, Hermione and I are in Luna's dorm getting ready. Ginny was curling everyone's hair, Luna was doing makeup and Hermione was drilling me on the up coming charms test.

"And done!" Ginny scrunches Luna's curls and hops off the bed.

"My turn my turn!" I slam my charms notebook closed.

"We're not done!" Hermione says.

"Tonight we are!" I sit and Ginny starts on my hair.

"Are you nervous?" I ask Ginny.

"Eh. Leo practically begged me to go."

"What do you even see in that oaf, Ginny?" Hermione asks, closing her book.

"Hair and dimples." Hermione makes a disgusted face.

"If I'm going to date someone I want them to have some sort of substance. Intelligence is much more important than any physical traits." She leans back and we all start laughing.

"What? What's so funny?" She looks at us, annoyed.

"You are such a liar Mione." Ginny wraps another piece of my hair in the curler.

"I am not!"

"I saw you staring at Ron in the great hall with those lovey eyes you have." Ginny says.

"Lies!" Hermione yells.

"Would you like me to do your makeup?" Luna asks Hermione.

"No. I think I'll just meet you guys at the ball." She picks up her books and leaves.

"She definitely likes him." Luna starts applying blush on my cheeks.

"Mhm." Ginny and I say in unison.

Ginny, Luna, Hermione and I turn into the stair case leading to the ball.I see students going inside, Professor McGonagall ushering and Draco adjusting his tie. He looks up at me and his eyes widen. I walk down and take his hand.

We go into the great hall and head up to the front of the stage where The Weird Sisters are playing their most popular song.

Once the song ends I go and get us drinks and no other than Katie Bell is stumbling over to the bar too.

"Hey you're y/n. Right?" She slurs her words.

"Yeah, and you're Katie."

"Fuck yeah I am. Im so glad that Draco asked you, I was getting nervous that Cedric was going to ask you or something but then I just swooped in and snacthed him." She made and grabbing motion and started filling up her glass with punch. I fill up two glasses and try to find Draco. I see Pucey and go over to him.

"Hey! Have you seen Draco?" He shakes his head and continues dancing with some Ravenclaw.

I get out of the crowd and try to find Blaise or Flint when I see Draco and Pansy running out of the great hall holding hands. I follow them out the door and I see them making out trying to walk up the stairs.

I don't know if I want to be sad or laugh. I was kinda looking forward to tonight. We fucking color coordinated our outfits and everything. I decide that instead of sulking I'm going to try to have fun and hope somone spiked the punch.

Cedric's POV

Tonight so far is disappointing to say the least. Katie got wasted before the ball and was basically illiterate for as long as I let her stay. About thirty minutes in, I brought her back to her dorm and had one of her friends watch her.
