A lone Pelican floated adrift in space. . . Until it came into the sights of a large ship. . .

Captain: There she is. . . Unidentified Pelican Drop-Ship. This is Captain Mayers of the UNSC Tartarus. Responding to your distress signal. Come in, over.

The Captain was aboard the bridge, tapping the comms again.

Mayers: Unidentified Pelican, please respond.

Pilot: Eh. . . Comms are acting kind of funny. Maybe they can't hear us.

Soldier: Or maybe they fell asleep at the wheel!

The second soldier was watching the news while resting his legs on the desk.

Mayers: Pelican, can you just give us a sign that you're reading this?

The Pelican's lights flared.

Pilot: Oh hey, she lives!

Mayers: Pelican, are you able to make your way to our starboard docking bay? We'll be able to assist you from there.

The lights flared once again.

Pilot: Well, there you go.

Mayers: Stassney, *turns to the soldier* meet up with Blanton and Kilgore in docking. Let's see what this is all about.

Stassney: *sits and turns* Wait, how the hell do you know that meant 'yes'? What if two flashes meant 'yes', and one flash meant, "Stay away, alien zombies?!"

The Pelican then began to move.

Mayers: You were saying?

Stassney: Fine. *stands* Signal sucks out here anyway.

On the tv, Malcom Hargrove made a speech. . .

Hargrove(Video): And we should all prepare ourselves for whatever may come next.

As Stassney made his way through the ships, prisoners taunted him mercilessly while banging on the bars to their cells.

Prisoner: Hey STASSney, why are we stopping?

Stassney: Quiet down. We're just pickin' up what I hope are hitchhiking cheerleaders.

Prisoner: In your dreams, asshole! *laughs*

The soldier soon passed a much more fortified cell. . . A single man resided inside. Eventually, he arrived at the docking bay to see two more soldiers.

Blanton: Come on Stass, hurry up!

Kilgore: It's just weird seein' a military bird out there, I don't like this, y'know?

Stassney: Oh, maybe it's some top-secret covert ops. Some hush-hush "you never saw us" type of shit.

Kilgore: Yeah, and if we're lucky, they'll kill you to keep this quiet.

Blanton: Hey, we gotta deadline to meet, all right? Ready up.

Their weapons aimed at the small ships hanger.

Blanton: Pelican crew! You may now open your bay door and slowly exit the vehicle.

The second the ramp hit the ground, one man arose, a light shining on him.

Blanton: Hands in the air!

Felix: Yes sir. *complies*

Kilgore: It's. . . just one guy?

Felix: Heh, won't find anyone else on this ship.

Blanton: Come on out. Take it slow.

Felix did just that.
