Loki grew sadder and sadder after that. After he finished crying, he just sat there staring at the window. You still had him in your arms but you let go when you feel Loki start to breath normally.

"Loki, its okay. So, you got adopted. What's the big deal?" You ask.

Loki glanced at you. "You don't understand." He suddenly turned sour. "You won't understand, you will never understand how bad this situation is. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW!"

Loki fell back down, turning sorrowful again. "I'm sorry. I am just...you see, in Asgard, we are taught at a very young age that Jotuns were monsters. They were evil. Yet here I am. One of them."

"Loki no, it isn't like that. You were raised better."

"No! Don't you see? Jotuns aren't raised to be evil, they are by nature. Evilness is in my nature. Just look what I did to Thor!" Loki said persistently.

"Oh, Loki, no. No. Just no. Thats not how we are going to think, you see. We are going to think positive, understand?" You say.

"My entire life is a lie and I am the monster that parents tell their children about at night. Wow, this is so positive." Loki said in a monotone.

You sigh. "I think you should go to bed. Here, you go and rest, I will go grab some food. Any requests?"

Loki shook his head. You mumble, "Chinese takeout it is." Heaving Loki to his feet, you start to walk out when you hear him moan. Loki had curled back into a ball and began to sob again.

Feeling a stab of pity, you relift Loki and drag him into his room. It is the first time you are in there since before Loki came. The room looked the same, except the color scheme went from white and grey to green and gold.

You gently lay Loki in bed and tuck him in. "Here, take this." You hand him your laptop and put your hand on his forehead. "Entertain yourself. I am going to get some food."

You leave Loki alone and go to pickup the food.

When you get back, you find Loki surrounded by used tissues. He was lying on his side, back facing the laptop, which was playing "Sad Song" by We the Kings.

"Loki. Loki. Loki. "You start to shake him. "This is not what I mean when I say positive. Come on, let's go eat."

You try to pull Loki up, but he yanks his hand away. "I do not want dinner. Let me sleep." You stroke his hair and kiss his head,

"Okay." You reach for the laptop but Loki stops you.

"Leave it." He instructs. You retract your hand and nod.

"Call me if you need me." You walk out and eat your food.

The next day, you wake up early due to your alarm. Monday you groan. Your work was fun, but you hate waking up early. You heave yourself out of bed and moan as you stretch.

You go over to Loki's room and open it. He was listening to a song, one of your favorite ones, called "Curbstomp" by Meg Myers. He glances at you. "I saw it in your YouTube history and it looked interesting. A lovely song. I especially like the part where she screams 'NO LIIIIIES!!' I feel like I can relate."

You close the laptop and pack it in your bag. Loki still seemed depressed and full of sadness, his eyes not full of life like they used to be. "I have to go to work today. My job is just two streets away, so if you need me, I am there. I work at the animal shelter, okay?"

Loki nodded, not saying a word. You ruffle his hair and leave for work.

When you open the door, after a long day at work, an awful aroma hits your nose. Oh no. You think. You rush into the kitchen. Loki is sitting at a table surrounded by empty beer bottles. He has a sour face on as he chokes down another bottle.
