There was a lot to take in from the other night. Having been a week since they've seen each other, Greta's constant reveries on her times spent with Eli had been processed through all of her usual methods:

Masturbation.

Running.

Masturbation again.

Working.

Re-watches of The Bachelor with Lulu and Cora while Kelly berated them from the background about how systematically demeaning and patriarchal the very nature of the show had become towards all of the female contenders.

And then masturbation some more.

Eating froyo would occasionally mingle itself upon that routine as well, but none of it kept her mind off of how physically satisfied, yet emotionally dirty she recalled feeling the moment he walked out of her loft.

It was enough to make her spend most afternoons at Kelly's house rather than back home. For she knew that if she were to go back there and find her way into that bed, the scent of him would still be prominent upon her sheets. Now, through all her senses, there was no getting rid of him, and that annoyed her on the inside.

This is what brought her to Kelly's again after work. Though, when she and Cora arrived, Kelly and Lulu weren't there. And today had been the worst day to forget the spare key they gifted her back at the office. And so, the siblings rested on the porch, taking in the sight of the suburban view. And with it, came Cora's own pondering.

"You think we could've lived in a normal house?" She asked. "Not like that big ass estate Daddy inherited. But an actual place with picket fences, Christmas decorations adorned all over from house to house..."

Shrugging, Greta easily found her answer. "Don't think mom would've let Stuart do that." She said, having been too used to calling their step-father by his first name, even after being married to their mother for over twenty years. "I feel like mom low-key is built to be some suburban soccer mom. And that scares the shit out of her."

"Why?"

"She likes apartment buildings. That's why. To her, houses like these felt like the end, you know? You move here, spend the rest of your life keeping up with it, then you die."

"Pretty fucking morbid." Cora said. But Greta shrugged.

"Don't tell her I said this, but I kinda agree with her. Can't imagine ever moving into a house. I like my loft too much. I'm gonna live like Carrie Bradshaw till I'm 70 or some shit. "
