CHAPTER 29

WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE IS WHAT CREATED ME NOW

"Are they still talking?" Kozma asked as he sat in front of Ches.

Ches nodded while sipping on his coffee.

They are currently on Phillie's working place during the day off. Since they are going to talk about Eitan's matters, they prefer to do it outside the District. And good thing that Phillie has the pass to get in the cafe during its closing time.

"Do you think she will be shock?" Ches asked while looking outside the glass walls.

Kozma shook his head. "No. She's ready for whatever it is. She forced Stan to tell her all about the details. Let's trust her."

Ches took another sip of his drink and looked outside the cafe with Kozma. It's already late night but the street outside are still busy. While lost at the sight of the busy street and the cold cafe, they didn't expected the sudden shock.

A man in a hoddie immediately slammed the wall with his hands on either side of his eyes while looking inside the cafe. Halos mabilaukan si Ches sa pagkagulat at natapon ang kaunti ng kaniyang iniinom habang si Kozma naman ay muntik mahugot ang kaniyang baril.

Nang makilala kung sino iyon ay halos mapa irap si Ches. "Dude, what the fuck, it's better to kill me right away than do that!"

Inside the staff room, Stan were cornered by Phillie.

His head were turned at her but his eyes were on the side, obviously avoiding her.

Phillie were still crossing her arms.

"How will I know what the hell happened after that if you won't tell me?" Phillie complained.

Stan gulped. "I just figured that it's not my place to tell this."

"I won't understand if you only told me that he was blamed for his brother's death. Because I think he was blaming himself until now when it shouldn't be. I know he loved his brother so much." Phillie said.

"I know that too." Stan said as he looked at her. "Their bond were truly exceptional. When I knew that my brother hid Ei away from the main house, I already assumed that it will give a bad relationship between the two brothers but I was wrong."

"That was Ace, right?" She asked.

Stan looked up in shock. "You know?"

"He was..telling me stories before and I saw his name on the back of the frame of their family picture." Phillie said. "Can you tell me what happened? Please?"

"Were you that desperate on understanding me?"

All of a sudden, they looked at the opened door and realized that it was Eitan who removed the hood from his head. Eitan simply nodded at Stan and then looked at Phillie.

"Ei!" Phillie called.

Eitan sighed. "To tell you the truth, I am really scared on telling you about what happened during those times. I'm afraid you'll hate me the same way as others."

"How could I?" Phillie asked in a low and strained voice. "You know I wouldn't. You know how I'll accept everything to you."

Eitan gripped on his fist as he looked at Stan. "I'm sorry for being away...Uncle."

Stan chuckled as he nodded in relief. "Let's just stop running away now."

When Eitan decided to start from the scratch, he embraced whatever unpleasant feeling is rising as he tell them what is needed to be told. On how did the scratch between him and his father grew further.
