CHAPTER 34
                              THE RESONANCE

"Why am I riding a different plane? I just don't understand!" Phillie exclaimed after finding out that she will be boarding a different plane than them.
                              "Ei!"
"What will I do if the plane that we're riding is ringed?" Eitan asked in a small voice. "I ain't some superhero who can fly and save you out of a falling plane."
Phillie purses her lips as she realized his point.
"Let me fight this one this time." Eitan said as he finished fixing her vest. He looked at her face and gently caressed her face. "I'm sorry if I wasn't able to keep you by my side all the time."
"But isn't it fine if we die together like that?" She proposed.
Eitan's mouth fell a bit after hearing that.
The amount of overwhelming and frustration just clogged inside him that made him speechless.
"I don't know what I'd do if I ever get separated from you again." Phillie said as she leaned her forehead against Eitan's chest. "Please, please."
"I'm sorry." Eitan whispered as he watched his hand contemplating whether to pull her close even more. He sighed and at the end, grabbed her waist as he embraced her so tight. "I'm sorry."
We may be all sacrificing one thing, but this time, I'm sacrificing my all for this fight. He thought.
The wind blew a bit of his hair that showed his under cut and even defined the only earring he is wearing.
I'm leaving her to you now, Lily. He thought as he pressed the honk before leaving.
With all of them moving forward, each and every step were very careful and carefree. Without the thought of failing, they claimed a successful fight. Even if they all knew, deep inside, that their feet are all down the soil.
They all have been clinging into that one thin rope all together and it will never be a solution if one of them tried to cut it down. One, after another, will come to fix the rope again and again.
That's how Taggers live through all this dangers.
Some say that Taggers exist to die. To be a Tagger means to accept the death in providing service for the District. He whole protects the District, shall be called a Tagger. But who will protect the protector?
The road to the airport were busy as their minds were occupied by something so heavy. With their eyes busy looking at each side and alert, the thumping inside their chest were inevitable.
Just who and what are we fighting for? Is it ourselves? They thought.
                              Is it for the District?
Or is it for the world?
