While Lani waited for her mom to come she began cleaning up the living room.
Life for the Hendrix's had changed a lot over the past few months. Dae Dae had finally stopped working for the architecture company and he was now forming his own. Which meant longer hours and less time at home, which meant Lani was mostly taking care of Gigi by herself. He would often leave around 6 in the morning and come back around 8 or 9.
She wanted to bring it up, but she knew this was his dream and she didn't want to get in the way of his dreams.
Lani was knocked out of her thoughts when she heard a knock at her door.
" Hey guys." Lani smiled, as she opened the door.
" Hi Lani bug." Leah said, with a very sleepy Gianna on her hip.
" Mama." Gigi, said reaching for Lani. Once Lani grabbed her she just laid her head on Lani's chest.
" Your hair looks so pretty mama." Lani said, running her hand over her fresh braids.
" She had a nap ?" Lani asked.
" She took like a 30 minute and then she woke up and started playing with Ace and Rumi." Leah answered.
" My poor baby sleepy. What did y'all do today ?" Lani said, rocking back and forth.
" After you dropped her off she went in the studio with your dad and now she's going to be the new intro on all of his songs. We had lunch outside and then I did her hair. She had a little cat nap and then she played with her aunt and uncle." Leah said.
" Y'all had a long day. Thank you for watching her everyday, me and Dae really do appreciate you and daddy." Lani said.
" You don't have to thank me, that's my grandchild. I'll watch her whenever." Leah smiled.
Leah stayed for about 10 more minutes before leaving.
" It's just me and you. You want something to drink ?" Lani asked, looking at Gigi.
" Milk." she answered. Lani sat her down on the couch and went in the kitchen to make her some milk. As she was fixing the bottle the door bell rung.
" Here you go mama." Lani said, handing Gigi the milk.
" Tanks." she smiled, drinking her bottle.
" Who is it ?" Lani asked.
" Dom and your godchildren." Dom answered. When Lani answered the door Eli and Sienna embraced her in a hug.
" Hi my babies." Lani said, hugging both of them. " Gigi's in the living room." she said, and the both ran towards the living room.
" Hey sis. How you been this week ?" Dom said, as they walked towards the living room.
" You don't even know." Lani said, shaking her head.
" Nanny we're going in the playroom." Sienna informed her, and Eli and Gigi followed her.
" So what's been up?" Dom asked.
" Work has been long and stressful, I don't know which time of the year is more busy beginning of the season or end of the season. Thankfully tomorrow is Friday and we only working halves tomorrow." Lani said.
