" See you later, I love you." Lani said, to her uncle as she clocked out. She had just finished her shift for the day and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep. This week was one of her off weeks when she felt at her lowest and didn't want to be bothered.
" I love you too. Don't bother coming in tomorrow , I got somebody to take over your shift." Marcus waved.
" You don't." Lani responded, before her uncle cut her off.
" I know I don't have to Lani. Take your time and get some rest, I'll see you again on Monday." he said.
Lani was grateful for the time and honestly she really needed it. Every morning she struggled getting up just to get ready for work, she was barely eating, she overall just wasn't herself.
Her anxiety was flaring up bad, it was around the time when she would really miss her uncle, and on top of it she missed Dae Dae. They hadn't really talked lately , because he worked long hours with his dad at the construction site and she hated bothering him when she knew he was tired, so most nights she would just settle with a goodnight text.
Once she got in her car it was a comfortable silence all the way to her house.
" I'm home." Lani said lowly, dropping her keys in the bowl.
" Can you come here real quick, bug." Leah called. She said yes, leaving her shoes by the door and making her way to the kitchen.
" Hey Lani." Dae Dae waved.
" Mama am I seeing things ?" Lani asked, making her mom and Dae Dae laugh.
" Girl he really is here. Now are you going to hug him or you just gone stand there." Leah laughed, and Lani immediately hugged him.
" I missed you." she pouted.
" I missed you too." he squeezed her.
" Ok let me go change out of my work clothes and I'll be right back." she said, going in the direction of the stairs. She jogged up the stairs as fast as she could. As soon as she made it to her room she quickly changed into a shirt and some shirts.
" I'm back." she smiled.
" Lani I need both of you guys out of my kitchen, unless y'all are going to help me." Leah said, they both of them giving her a crazy look. " Exactly, Lani go give him a house tour or something, dinner should be ready in like an hour or so." she said, and they got up.
" Ok, so you've basically seen most of downstair except my parents room , and I'm sure you don't care to see that. So we're going to move on to the second floor. This room is Kapree's room , I would show you inside but knowing her its probably not clean. My rooms right here, come with me." she said, opening her bedroom door.
