Chapter Four

The next morning we were cleaning up the bodies, Glenn and I watched to make sure they didn't get the bodies mixed up.

Daryl and Morales started dragging one of our own to the burn pile.

"Daryl! Thats one of ours, we blurry him not burn him." I said and he looked up at me.

"It doesn't matter." He said and Glenn got mad.

"It matters! Their out people! We burry our people!" Glenn said his voice wavering.

"Okay." Morales said and started dragging the body to the other pile.

"Glenn, you okay?" I asked and grabbed his hand.

"I'm fine Harp." He said and I shook my head.

"Your not Glenn, I know its hard." I whispered and he hugged me. "Its gonna be okay, I'm not going anywhere." I said and kissed his cheek.

"Thank you Harper, I- just thank you." He said and I nodded.

"Anything for you Glenn." I said and he smiled.

We were gathered around cars, Rick and Shane were taking us to the CDC, Jim was bit, and Morales and his family weren't coming.

"Here Morales, take it, keep your family safe." I said handing him a hand gun.

"I will. Thank you, it was a pleasure meeting you Harper Greene." He said and hugged me.

"It was a pleasure meeting you too." I said smiling with teary eyes.

"Come on Harper, we're leaving." Rick said and I followed him to the RV.

I sat by Glenn and leaned my head on his shoulder, it was gonna be a long ride and I was exhausted. I didn't get any sleep because I was to afraid that walkers would come back.

"Go to sleep, I'll wake you up when we get there." Glenn whispered and I nodded.

"Thank you." I said and quickly fell asleep.

"Harper! We're here!" Glenn said and I shot up.

I immediately noticed Jacqui's face, it was full of sorrow.

"Where's Jim?" I asked Glenn.

"He's gone, we dropped him off a few miles ago." He said looking down.

"And you didn't think to wake me?!" I yelled with tears eyes.

"I- you looked so peaceful." Glenn whispered.

"You should have woken me up! He wasn't just someone that joined our group he was my friend Glenn! And you knew that!" I yelled shoving him.

"Stop, stop it!" He said grabbing my hands. "He wanted me to give you this, Jacqui wrote it while he told her what to say." Glenn said handing me a piece of paper.

We all got out and walked up to the doors, Shane and Rick started banging on the door, Rick was losing it and yelling at the camera.

"Please! We have kids!" He yelled hitting the door. "So your gonna let us die!?" He screamed.

"Rick! No one ther-." I got cut off when the doors opened.

"Grab your supplies cause once those doors close they won't open again." A guy said holding a shot gun to us.

Everyone turned to Glenn and I, I rolled my eyes and ran outside. I grabbed as much as I could leaving only a few and ran back inside. Once Glenn was in the doors closed and the guy looked at Rick.

"What do you want?" He asked.

"A chance." Rick said holding Lori's hand.

"Thats alot to ask for these days." The guy said.

"I know." Rick said.

"You guys will all submit to a blood test." He said and everyone agreed.

When we were inside the CDC, the guys name was Jenner, he was the last person here. Which sucked but it was fine. He showed us to our room, I offered to share on with Glenn again since everyone else had partners.

I was sitting on the bed staring at the latter Jim wrote for me. I opened it and started reading.

Harper, when you read this I'll be gone, and I'm sorry for that. But I'm happier, I'm with my family. I'm telling Glenn to give this to you. I didn't want you to wake up you looked so tired. Thank you Harper, thank you for making me feel wanted. Thank you for making me realize what happened to my wife and boys was not my fault. You were so kind to me and thank you for that. I'll see you in another lifetime Harper Marie Greene.

At the end of the letter tears were falling down my cheeks, Glenn walked out of the shower and looked up at me. I grabbed my clothes and shoved past him.

Once I was in the bathroom I locked the door and slid down it. I tried to hold in my sobs but they just kept coming. I lost people I cared about, Amy, Jim, and my friends decided not to come.

"Harper?" Glenn's frantic voice was at the door. "Harper!" He yelled.

"I'm taking a shower!" I yelled turning the water on.

When I stepped in the shower it felt so good. I watched as the dirt disappeared off my skin, the dried blood. I watched it all go down the drain.

3rd Person Pov

Glenn was shit faced drunk, Harper didn't like it but she also didn't really care. He was hilarious when he was drunk, he made her feel alot better.

Than when she went to bed she started thinking about her family, if they were alive. She ran away, ran away from her twin, her younger sister her daddy and her step mom.

She always wanted to go back, she just didn't feel like she was wanted there. Not anymore. Beth had Maggie, Maggie her twin had Beth and barley payed attention to her and Daddy had his wife.

She missed them so much, she started crying when she though about it.
