Chapter Fourteen

Harper woke up early in the morning, the only other people who were up was Daryl and Rick.

"I'm gonna go out and check Cara for supplies, there was another road block not that far ahead, you coming?" Daryl asks her, Harper nods and grabs her gun, Rick gave her a full clip so she could protect herself.

"Lets go." Harper says and they set off together.

After walking for about twenty minutes the pair come up the the road block, they both split up and go different ways, scratching comes from a black SUV, Harper lifts up her gun and opens the door ready to shoot but puts her gun down to find a German Shepard.

"Hey there." She whispers letting the dog smell her hand before petting it.

A white sheet of paper catches her eyes, she picks it up and reads it over.

Please take care of Franki, she was in the police force, she is really helpful and kind. I couldn't live in this world anymore. There is lots of canned food in the back and a bag of dog food along with water. Please don't just take the supplies and leave Franki.

Harper smiles and grabs the leash and harness on the seat, she put it on the dog and walked around to the trunk, when she opened it there was tons of canned foods and water, along with a bag of dog food.

"Daryl!" She yells, Daryl comes out and sees the dog than the food behind her. "Start the car please we're taking all of this and Franki." She says and Daryl nods.

"Hey Franki." Daryl says, and squats down to the dog.

"Here catch." Harper throws him a bottle of water that he opens immediately and starts drinking some.

"There a bowl in there?" He asks, Harper nods and sets down a dog dish.

Daryl pours some water in the dish and gets up to start the SUV. Harper closes the truck and grabs the empty water bowl and gets in the front seat with Franki.

"Lets go." She says and Daryl starts driving.

Daryl parks by the red pick up and hops out, Rick walks up to them and watches as Harper gets out of the SUV with the dog.

"You brought a dog?" Rick asks, Harper nods.

"This dog saved our life, look in the trunk and read this note." She says handing him the note.

Rick reads over the note and walks to the trunk and opens it, he smiles and lets out a laugh.

"The dog is your responsibility then." Rick says, Harper nods and runs with Franki to the group.

She takes the leash off of her and Franki follows her, Glenn sees her and immediately goes to hug her.

Franki's barks fill the air as everyone laughs and smiles at the dog, Carl and Beth seem most interested in her.

"Uh I found her in a SUV full of food and water." Harper smiles, "Come on pack up we're getting back on the road. Come here Fraki!" She calls.

The dog happily runs to her and she clips the leash, Harper looks around to see who has the baby, her eyes lock on Lori who is holding her as Glenn is still wearing the carrier.

"Come on, I bet Alex is hungry." Glenn says taking the baby and putting her back in the carrier.

"Glenn, you and I are taking the SUV with the baby and Franki, that leaves Dad, Beth and Maggie in the car, Lori, Carl, Rick and T-dog in dad's truck, Daryl and Carol on his motorcycle." Harper says, everyone starts to grab the blankets and walk back to the road.

"Harper? Can I go with you guys? I wann hang out with Franki." Beth says, Harper looks at her father who nods a yes.

"Sure, and everyone grab a water bottle in the back of the SUV." She says, everyone rushes to grab a bottle of water.

Glenn grabs on for him and Harper, Harper starts making a little bed in the middle seat for Alexis, she sets the blankets in a circle than puts Alexis who is still in the carrier on the bed.

"Does that looks safe?" She asks Glenn, Glenn sits up the carrier leaning it against the seat.

"That better, I'll keep watch while your driving." Glenn says, Harper nods and kisses him.

The kiss is gentle but full of passion, she smiles when she pulls back, Glenn pecks her lips before getting in the passenger.

Harper watches as Franku smells the baby, than curls her body around the carrier and lays down. Harper smiles and gets in the car.

After a while of driving, it's getting dark, the cars pull over and Rick decides just to let them sleep in the cars, Harper takes Alexis out of the carrier and sets her on the seat, Franki curls around her keeping her safe, Harper sets a blanket over both of them and gets in the passenger seat to lay down.

Beth moved cars and went back with their dad and Maggie, Glenn was in the passenger seat, turned to face Harper.

Glenn takes her hand, places a kiss on it and holds it close to his heart. "I love you." He whispered, Harper smiles sleepily.

"I love you more Glenn." She says and scoots forward to place a kiss on his lips.

Glenn leans closer to her, the kiss was messy since they were both tired but neither of them cared. When they pulled apart Glenn gave Harper one more kiss than layed back on his seat.

"Goodnight baby." He whispered into the darkness.

"Goodnight handsome." She whispered before dozing off.
