Twenty Four

Chapter Twenty Four
; The prison attack

Harper and Glenn didn't know what was happening outside, they were oblivious to the governor outside. Harper didn't know her dad was dead until she forced herself out of bed and saw the governor finishing it off.

"Daddy!" Harper screamed, Maggie looked at her sister with tears in her eyes.

"Harper! You need to take Glenn and get on that bus right now! Do you hear me?" Maggie ordered, Harper nodded.

When she walked back in the cells, Glenn wasn't there. She walked in cell block C and grabbed her bag along with the picture of him and some food.

She walked back out to get on the bus, but it was already gone, she huffed and started walking away from the prison, into the woods, she had no idea where she was going though.

Glenn woke up on a slab on concrete, the walkers below him were trying to get him, he quickly stood up and looked around.

"Harper!?" His voice cracked slightly, he couldn't see his wife anywhere.

He walked in the cell block and to his old cell, her bag was gone along with the picture of him she keeps hung up.

He grabbed his bag and her picture, he stood there and studied it, he felt the tears build their way up, no matter how hard he fought them they still came.

Glenn was going to find her no matter what.

At night time Harper set up camp, she heard rustling in the bushes and grabbed her knife, but what came out of the bushes wasn't what she expected at all.

"Franki? Franki! Come here girl." Harper called, the black dog trotted happily over to her. "Hey girl, how'd you get out?" She asked, Harper grabbed her back and grabbed the oat meal she took.

She started boiling water over the fire, she kept an eye on the woods around her, she was sitting against a brick wall so they could only come from infron of her.

Once she was done boiling the water she poured the oat meal in, it looks like she was gonna have non flavored oat meal, just oats.

She scooped some in a bowl for her and Franki and ate it, her mind wandered to Glenn, Alexis, Beth, Maggie the rest of her group, she wondered if she'd ever see them again.

Once she was done eating she climbed the half stairs to sit on the brick wall, Franki stayed on the stairs and stared at Harper.

"I know you miss 'em girl." She whispered, the dog whined quietly. "Get some sleep, I'll keep watch." Shd whispered, the dog layed her head down and quickly fell asleep.

Harper pulled the picture of Glenn out, she smiled teary at it, she missed him, even though it's only been a few hours, she missed him so much.

At morning she kicked dirt on the fire grabbed her things and started back with her journey, she needed to find them, sure she would take breaks in between but she was gonna find them no matter what.
