Chapter Five

The next morning Harper woke up next to Glenn, who had his arm iver her stomach. She smiled and got out of bed waking Glenn up.

"Glenn." She whispered and he shot up. "Hey bud, take it slow." She said and they walked to the kitchen together.

"Ugh, Don't ever let me drink again." Glenn said and Haroer laughed.

"You got it buddy." She said and he smiled.

"Here, take these." Lori said handing him a pill bottle.

Dr. Jenner walked in and T-dog started asking questions. He showed the group test subject 19, and what happens during the turn.

"Jenner? What happens when the clock hits zero?" Dale asked and Jenner looked down.

"The basement generators—they run out of fuel." Jenner said.

"And then?" Rick asks.

Jenner ignores the question and walks out of the big room.

"VI, what happens when the power runs out?" Rick asked.

"When the power runs out, facility-wide decontamination will occur." Vi answered and Harper started panicking.

Several of the group runs down stairs looking for the generators. Lights automatically come on as they enter the basement.

"Decontamination—what does that mean?" Gkenn asked Rick.

"I don’t like the way Jenner clammed up. The way he just wandered off like that." Shane muttered.

"What’s wrong with him? Seriously, man. Is he nuts, medicated, what?" T-dog asked.

"In there." Rick said pointing to a map on the wall.

"Check that way. Shane." Rick said and Shane follows him.

Shane follows Rick. They walk through the utility room looking for the generator. Rick finds a barrel with a hose coming out of it.

"It’s empty." Rick told the group.

"Emergency lighting is on." Vi said.

"What the Hell is this?" Shane asked.

Glenn and T-Dog run up.
