"Rowan, just let me go outside!" I yelled.

"No Alexandria, it's too dangerous out there. You could get hurt! I don't want you to get hurt, not like-". He didn't finish his sentence, just stood there staring at me, motionless.

I groaned and said, "your not my father, Rowen. Your only my brother! You can't tell me what to do!"

"Yeah, well you know father would say no" said Rowen.

Why was Rowen always so overprotective of me? I could take care of myself!

"Rowen, all I want to do is hunt. I deserve this, I'm always in this castle. I can never go anywhere! Just let me be free!" I yelled.

"The answer is no, Alexandria. It's just too dangerous, I'm sorry" he said.

He tried to hug me, but instead I stomped away towards my room. I slammed the door and locked it. I screamed in frustration and threw my bow and arrows across the room.

Rowen would never let me go anywhere outside castle town. He would never let me be independent. He would never let me be me.

I looked in the mirror and pulled the ponytail out of my long black hair, letting it flow down to my waste. I groaned and laid down on my bed. After a few hours or so, I decided to take a walk around the castle.

After a few minuets of walking, I came upon the knight's training ground. The young boys about sixteen, my age, were training with General Harold to become Knights. They were in their armor and were sword fighting each other.

I watched them for a minuet or two before noticing him. A certain boy who looked about seventeen was fighting a tall boy who looked much older. But he defeated him in less than a minuet.

He had sandy blond hair and the most beautiful blue eyes that I've ever seen. Then, he noticed me. He looked right at me, and I looked at him. I gave him a small, yet flirtatious smile. He looked too shocked to smile back.

Some of the younger boys taunted him by saying, "ooh" and, "Aaron's got a little crush!" So his name was Aaron. I stared at him for a few more seconds before quickly walking away. What was I doing?! I could never be with a knight, father would never approve of it. Rowen would never approve of it.

As I walked inside the castle, I saw my father. "Alexandria! I have such wonderful news!" He said. I took a deep breath and asked, "what is it, father?" "I have set up an arranged marriage for you with Prince Laithen of Doriella!" He said.

"You did WHAT?!" I yelled. "Alexandria, he's close to your age and a suitable husband for you" father explained. "No! I'm not getting married! You can't make me!" I yelled. Father's expression grew angry. "You will do whatever I say" he said. "I don't even know him! This is ridiculous!" I said.

Then, he slapped me across the face. I yelped in pain and held my right cheek. I moved my hand from my face to see trickled of blood on my fingers. I gasped and ran as far away from him as I could. "Alexandria, I'm sorry! I didn't mean too!" He yelled as I ran. But I didn't care. I kept running without looking back.

Then, I slammed into Rowen. I didn't even see him approaching me, so I slammed into him and fell to the ground. "Whoa, are you alright?" He asked as he helped me up. I shook my head. I tried my best not to cry, but a few tears streamed down my face. "What-" said Rowen, but he didn't finish his sentence after he saw my swollen, bloody cheek.

"Who did this to you?" He asked angrily. "You know" I quietly said. He sighed and hugged me, but I didn't hug him back. "It'll be alright, I promise" he said. But I didn't believe him. After everything that happened that day, I didn't think anything would be alright ever again.
