Later that night, I got dressed and left Talahan. I wanted to go hunting and explore before my father hit me and before Rowen put up such a fight, so that's what I was going to do. The entire upper part of my cheek was bruised, but that didn't bother me. I would do what I wanted to do.

So I picked up my bow and arrows and snuck out of the castle. Nobody was out, so I could escape easily. I left the kingdom and explored the nearest forest. It felt good to be away from the castle, I was so tired of it. Rowen never let me go outside. He was always around me.

I decided not to think about it and enjoy the beautiful scenery around me. Out of all the places to go, the forest was my favorite. Their were so many animals and beautiful flowers to look at. Their was never anything to look at in the castle.

I always wondered why Rowen never let me leave the castle, or his side. I've asked him why he's so overprotective of me, but he would never give me a real answer. I didn't know how long I was in the forest until I left and saw the sun high in the air. I gasped. How long was I out? It was dark when I left!

I ran towards the castle. In about an hour, I arrived. I tried to sneak in my room without being seen, but I had no luck. "ALEXANDRIA!" Said a voice. Rowen ran to me and hugged me tightly. "Where have you been? We've been looking all over for you! Don't ever leave without telling me again!" He said.

"We've done this before Rowen. I leave and explore places. You get worried, even though you know I'm alright. Same story, different day" I said. He looked down at me and said, "I always worry about you, Alexandria. Your my little sister. And how am I supposed to know if your safe or not? A wild bear could have eaten you or something!"

I laughed. "A bear? How ridiculous! I'm taking a bath, see you later" I said. I walked away, and didn't say anything when he said, "bye, Alexandria". It wasn't really goodbye, he would probably just follow me from a distance on the way to my room. I walked into my room and closed the door and locked it.

I put my bow and arrows to the side and picked up my hairbrush. I pulled the braid out of my hair and brushed it. It was annoying of how long it was, but my mother insisted that I keep it that way. But when I was brushing my hair, I noticed something.

Black mist was coming out from in between my fingers. It was darker than my midnight black hair. I gasped and dropped my hairbrush. The mist disappeared. I looked at my hands. Their was no sign of it. I sighed. It must have been my imagination.

I was tired. I needed sleep, that's all. I was seeing things because of how tired I was. So after I took a bath, I laid on my bed and fell asleep.
