Kamari stood at his locker putting his books up from his first 4 periods, getting ready to head to lunch. Sorai was beside him leaning against the lockers on her phone, FaceTiming Gabi who was at home sick.

"Aye Kam!" A deep voice called out causing Kamari to turn around, seeing Caleb.

Sorai looked up and had to keep herself from rolling her eyes, because mostly everyone was referring to him as Kam now. His nickname for her would stay Mari.

He raised his eyebrow. "Wassup?"

Caleb walked over to him, a huge smirk on his face. "You coming to my party tomorrow night right?"

"Um yeah I should be." He nodded, closing his locker to face him completely. "I'll be going with Rai."

Caleb kept the smirk on his face letting his eyes fall to Sorai before looking back at Kamari. "Y'all together or something? The streets been talking."

Kamari's face scrunched up in confusion. "Huh?"

Sorai finally rolled her eyes. "No we aren't together Caleb, we're friends. So tell whoever in these streets talking to mind their fucking business if they don't have the facts straight."

Caleb threw his hands up in surrender. "Don't kill the messenger shorty. Either way it's helping Kamari stats right now, you know these girls like what they think they can't have." He smirked wider and Rai waved him off, looking back down at her phone where Gabi was all up in the screen being nosey. She had her airpods in so they couldn't hear her laughing.

"Don't come over here just to be annoying Caleb."

Kamari kept his eyes on Caleb. "What do you mean by helping my stats?"

"Oh man I keep forgetting this popularity shit is new to you. That's crazy— but pretty much your starting to build a reputation for yourself. Especially with the ladies. They see you hanging with Sorai all the time and following her around like a lost puppy, they assuming you're dating her," He explained and Kamari just nodded slowly.

"That's the only reason why they're probably not in your face right now, but now that I know y'all not together I can spread the word for ya fam, clear that up. You don't need that rumor holding you back. Then boom my man Kam about to become one with the ladiesss." Caleb cheered, reaching over to playfully slap his arm. "If you need any pointers on how to keep a roster let a nigga know."

Sorai looked back up and sent him a disgusted look, but she didn't say anything cause it wasn't her place. However she would be damned if she let Kamari turn into a fuck boy.

"If he needs any pointers on how to become a hoe he'll be sure to hit you up." Sorai answered and Caleb chuckled, shaking his head.

"Whatever. I'll see y'all tomorrow at the party, come prepared to get fucked up. Kamari follow me back and I'll hit you up so we can hang and I'll even invite you come chill with the guys, there's no need to hang around females all the time." Caleb said, making sure to send Sorai a quick look before jogging away.

"Hoe ass nigga." She mumbled under her breathe. "I'll call you back Gabi." She said, hanging up the phone.

Kamari just stood in place confused, not even really paying attention to what just transpired. He had no idea there was a rumor going around about him and Sorai dating.

"Did you know about that?" He asked her as she pushed off the lockers, looking down at her.

She shrugged. "I may have heard a thing or two about it but I ignored it because rumors are stupid. You'll get used to it, and my advice is don't feed into it. They change like wildfire."
