Chapter 16: Tadashi's pov

Yamaguchi pov:

I'd been having such a great day with y/n, my feelings for her were growing by the day. We had been spending so much time together recently and she was helping me with practice and the others with their revision.

Once our final class had finished I saw y/n quickly pack her things and swiftly run out of class so she could beat me to the gym. It took me a few more seconds to pack my things and start to catch up with her. When I caught up we started getting a bit more competitive and ran as quickly as possible for a minute or so, but I started to tire even though the gym was in sight I slowed down and once I got there y/n had beaten me.

"Well done Tada-chan, that's your highest score so far! But you still can't beat me!" She said proudly, entering the gym with me.

After practice we headed home with the team but first we stopped for meat buns at Coach's shop. The team waited outside while Daichi, Enoshita and (y/n) bought the buns.

(Y/n) handed me the bag with our food in and we walked on with the group until it was time for us to cross the road.

I checked to see if it was safe and it was so I started walking with (y/n) just behind me.

All of a sudden I felt someone push me onto the path and then a large van drove past. I thought that everything was going to be alright but I was wrong....

Very wrong.....

What I saw was terrifying. I saw y/n lay unconscious in the middle of the road. She was covered in blood and dirt but I didn't care about that. Tear rolled down my face limiting my eyesight but I didn't care. It's my fault that this happened and-and I wish I could have stopped this from happening.

I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Are you alright Yamaguchi-kun?" I looked into Sugawara's eyes as he paused "y/n is going to be taken to the hospital when the ambulance arrives, I'm sure that she will be ok. And please don't blame yourself for this it's not what (y/n) would have wanted is it?"

I knew he was correct. We waited for the ambulance and helped hold her things before placing them in the ambulance.

The doctors told us that only three people were allowed in the ambulance with (y/n) so Ukai, Sugawara and I climbed in. Ukai explained what happened and the doctor asked questions until we arrived and the doctors took her away.

We sat in the waiting room for hours without any news on what was happening. I tried not to cry but I couldn't, if only I could have waited for a bit before crossing.

A while later we got news that she was alive but was stuck in a coma and was in an operation.

We fell asleep waiting for the operation to be over so we could see her.

The doctor woke us up and lead us to the room she was in.

I sat on the chair next to her and grabbed her hand in mine and smiled.

"I love you, please wake up soon"
