Chapter 28: Crush

Y/n pov:

"Y/n, do you have a crush on Yamaguchi-Kun?"

I didn't know what so say. I didn't even know the answer myself. I felt extremely uncomfortable at that time, the silence was definitely not comforting like it was when I walked home with Tadas-- What why do I think about him so much!

I shuffled backwards over to the window and quietly unlocked it before climbing out. I just wanted to get away, I definitely wasn't ready to answer that question at all.

I ran. I ran as fast as I could straight into the courtyard but before I could keep going I crashed into something... or should I say, someone.

"OhmygoshI'msososorry! PleaseforgivemeIwasn'tlookingwhereI wasgoing!" I apologised while I grabbed the hand of the person who was helping me up.

"Don't worry, its alright I wasn't looking either- Y/N!"

"Tada-chan?!"

I went up to him and hugged him. He hesitated for a moment but then he hugged back. We stayed there for a while before I pulled back.

"Tada-chan come with me, i know a place where we can sit and no one will disturb us or ask strange questions to make us uncomfortable."

He grabbed my hand and I noticed a slight blush coat his cheeks and I giggled slightly in response running on over to our destination.

"Woah Y/n-chan this is beautiful."

I let him to sit down with me by the large tree that I saw Akaashi put fairy lights around yesterday.

He laid my head down on his shoulder and lay his head atop of mine, our hands still linked but we didn't mind. We were comfortable, all our fears, our problems had dissolved into the night.

It got a slight bit colder so I reached into the tree where I had hidden a few things earlier in the day when I was bored. I got out a scarf that we shared, pulling us even closer together.

We didn't notice that we both fell asleep huddled together, still holding hands.

We didn't notice that a few others had approached and were taking in the scene before them. We also didn't notice Kenma taking photos for the infamous 'pretty setter squad' group chat. Or Suga calling my brother telling him everything. Or SaltShaker-shima telling Kuroo he knew we both liked each other.

Yamaguchi pov:

I woke up to a beautiful sunrise, it must be early. It was then I noticed that my movement was restricted. I pulled my hand out of the one of the person next to mine then removed the scarf around my neck so I could get up.

" 'Morning Y/n-chan. 'Morning Sun."

I wasn't sure what to do, so I picked her up bridal style, carried her carefully into the hallway and stopped in front of the girls dorm room.

* Knock* *Knock*

It was Kaori who answered, she let me in and bought me over to Y/n's futon which was by an open window.

"Did she climb out of that last night?" Kaori nodded while helping me tuck the said girl back in.

"You really like her don't you, Yamaguchi." I shifted my gaze from Y/n to Kaori then back to y/n. A simple nod was enough of an answer for her.

"I don't think she likes me in the same way thought." My statement was honest but I was soon reassured by Kaori.

"I think that's where you're wrong, she's always talking about you and you should have seen her face yesterday we were playing truth or dare. She got so embarrassed she climbed out of the window and found you. I'm pretty sure she likes you Yamaguchi."

"Thank you, that really helped. But I'm still terrified of how I'm going to tell her. What happens if it all goes wrong or even worse, if she rejects me."

" I'm sure she wouldn't matter if everything went wrong, she cares about you wayyyy to much to reject you."

I checked the time, it was 05:00am I must go back and get ready for early practice. "Um.. I've got to go now, we start practice at 6 so I've got to get ready. Thank you for everything, Kaori."

Y/n pov:

I woke up on my futon which was strange, I was sure I fell asleep by the tree with Tadashi.

"Come on Y/n, practice starts in half an hour. Get up!" Runa passed my stuff and showed me where the shower was so I could freshen up before practice.

Once I had finished changing and getting myself ready, I headed into the volleyball court.

"Morning y/n-chan, did you sleep well?" Tadashi asked.

I replied with a smile and a nod but before I could walk over to Kiyoko he stopped me.

"Y/n can you meet me in gym 4 after practice, it's not anything bad don't worry but its quite important."

Tadashi almost never talked so formally so it must be important.

"Ok Tada-chan! I'll be there, see you later alligator!" I replied finishing with a fun rhyme to which he replied with:
"In a while crocodile!"
