Dear no one

We were starting our European tour in a week. Scott knew that he wanted to talk to Alex before leaving. He was not going to wait until we were back. For one reason or another they have been postponing it for almost two weeks already. And as days went by, it was easier to see how this situation was messing with Scott’s emotions. I think he was about to get sick.

I left my room because I needed another bottle of water. When I got into the kitchen I got scared because I thought there was no one else around, but Scott was sitting on the floor behind the kitchen’s counter right under the mantel. He was listening to what someone was telling him on the phone but when I opened the fridge he answered to that person who I figured it was Alex. ‘I don’t care what name I said… no, of course I am not curious, because… don’t you think that I felt something for that other person I would, at least, have a hint about who I named? But the thing is that I have zero ideas and I give zero fucks, because you were the only person I was worried about… yes I said were… There is a lot that we need to talk, but not on the phone… ok, I’ll tell him… yes… bye”

I was about to close my room’s door when he called me.

Scott: Mitch! Wait a minute.

Mitch: Tell me, what is it?

Scott: Alex is coming in an hour and a half or so… and I was wondering if it’s possible that you leave me the house? for two hours tops… so if we need to argue we can do it more freely.

Mitch: Sure, I’ll go do whatever, somewhere… I’ve heard it’s lovely at this time of the year… Only remember that we have neighbors, so don’t let your emotions out too loudly, please.

Scott: You are the best. Thank you so much, I promise I will reward you somehow.

Mitch: Instead of coming back a couple of hours later, why don’t you call me once he is gone, or once you are done, in case he will stay, so I can be sure that I will not interrupt you guys.

Scott: That’s a great idea. Thank you so much.

Mitch: Don’t worry! Are you ok?

Scott: Yes, more relaxed now that I know that we are going to make a decision… either path we choose will be fine with me, but I want to settle this already… the uncertainty is killing me.

Mitch: I can imagine. Ok, I’m going to do a couple of things now, so I can leave the house for you guys and don’t worry about them later.

As soon as I closed my room’s door the greatest idea came into my mind. I was going to go to a hotel, and I was going to get a massage and a manicure, and ask for room service, I was going to be a queen for the day.

If Scott and Alex end up breaking up he can come and join me. I will get some of the movies he likes, so we can watch them on my computer. Anything else we might need, we can ask for it from room service.

If they end up together, Alex will probably spend the night there… so I would rather spend the night at the hotel, all by myself.

I called the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel, ready to spend a wonderful afternoon/evening. I booked everything that the sweet lady who took my reservation told me that I will be able to do in two hours. I packed a little hand bag with comfy clothes, some movies, my laptop, my phone… well you know, everything that I will need.

Once everything was ready I drove for fifteen minutes or so to the hotel. There was a really beautiful guy at the front desk. He made it all really easy for me; he explained to me where everything was and the timing for all the extras that I’d booked.

When everything was clear he gave me my room’s key. I thanked him with my best smile for his great explanations and his amazing service; he made me feel like a boy princess. Then I explained to him that probably in a couple of hours or perhaps later a friend of mine would come, and I asked him if he would be so kind of letting him know where I was staying and perhaps he could give Scott another key, just if I was not at my room by the time he arrives. And of course he agreed. When people are this nice… I just… I don’t know, it is like a little turn on for me.
