                              Hugh's POV
An hour long boat ride and two trains later, we were in the heart of London. I heard Horace laughing and Enoch grumbling.
"London! The city of dreams!" Horace mocked. I remembered all the days Enoch had bored us saying how London was the best city in the world and all the adventures he had there and at his father's funeral parlor before joining our loop.
"Well I think this city stinks and it's cloudy!" Olive whined, she was missing Claire and probably in need of a nap.
"Oh London," Horace continued, "how I missed being nursed from your bosom." We all burst out laughing.
"Ok maybe I did over sell it, but this is a wartime. You guys should have seen it's beauty when-" But we were all laughing too hard to let him continue.
"Oh sod off!" But I saw him wink at Horace. Despite his constant bullying of him I think Enoch did see him as a friend, though I doubt any more than that.
"What's that big building?" Asked Jake.
"It's the cathedral! Even I know that!" Said Olive.
"Hey wait! Give me that book!" Millard took The Tales from Bronwyn, he must have stripped down when we got on the boat, I didn't even notice. He must have been freezing!
"There was this story," he explained, he was mumbling to himself and clucking his tongue like a chicken.
"Aha!" His yell made me jump.
"Here!" He showed the story of the Peculiar Pigeons.
One upon a Peculiar time, there were pigeons.....
My mind drifted away to Fiona. I wonder what she was doing now? Was she helping Addison with Claire? Was she growing things for supper?
"... and today it still stands. The End."
Millard slammed the book shut and I shook myself out of my trance.
"So we're looking for a peculiar pigeon?" Asked Emma skeptically.
"Well, the other story led us to that loop, I say we trust it."
"Addison did say that Miss Wren had friends who were pigeons..." Jake trailed off when he felt Emma's glare.
"Well ok matchstick, if you have a better idea I'm all ears! But I say we try to find that bloody pigeon!" Yelled Enoch.
Emma looked sheepish and surrendered to the idea.
"Look! Birds!" Horace shouted, Enoch grabbed him by his shirt collar and pulled him back.
"Stop shouting and stop yelling! You'll scare them away you clod!" Horace whimpered and Enoch let him go with a pat on the back, his hand briefly resting on him.
"Go gently!"
Horace moved gently, creeping on the pigeons like a killer. Suddenly he pounced like a cat and grabbed one, it's friends flew away leaving it for dead, I almost felt bad for the poor bird. It's winds flapped and it screeched but Horace held on tight. We ran over there and examined it.
"He doesn't seem peculiar."
"It's a pigeon!"
Bronwyn and Enoch started to bicker when we heard the all too familiar sound of the bomb sirens. People were running in the street looking for places to hide.
"Run children! Run!" A big man yelled, Jake said he looked like Mr. Monopoly.
"Stop joking around! We need to hide!"
Enoch tore off running to the cathedral, we followed. He practically ripped the doors on their hinges, the cathedral had a gaping hole in the ceiling and a solider on his knees between the pews praying.
"We're all gonna die!" Shouted Enoch.
"Now look who's the Pansy!" Horace laughed, but Enoch couldn't even hear him.
"Guys, these alarms go on for days, I wouldn't even be shocked if a bomb wasn't even near." Just as Emma finished her sentence, we heard a big boom and the ground shook.
"Look! A basement!" Olive was so exited she floated of the ground a bit before taking off towards it. Enoch pushed her out of the way and jumped down.
"I feel a hollow." Jake groaned.
"Of course you so!" I yelled, bombs were falling everywhere. It sounded like the sky cracking open. We took down the stairs and smelled a musty odor.
"James Wren! That must have been Miss Wren's dad!" Olive cried out. Miss Peregrine screeched and pecked at the coffin door. Enoch pulled it open, instead of a dead corpse or a skeleton, there was a Shute with a ladder. Jake laughed painfully.
Emma climbed down first with Jake, Hollow Protection and light seemed like a good idea, but if we're going by what's the most useful I'll be last with Horace and Olive. I went last and slammed the door shut just as the Earth shook with a big boom.
                              Lights out.
"Hugh! Hugh!" Emma shook me, I was on top of Horace. Horace climbed out of under me and Enoch patted his back. I must have fell down the ladder.
"Are you alright?" Asked Bronwyn.
I nodded and she pulled me up—a little too hard as I winced.
"Jake, what's our ETA on the hollow?" Emma asked.
"I-I don't know."
"I take everything I've ever said back, I miss Abe." Enoch grumbled.
"Why are we standing here? We need to go!" Olive yelled.
"Don't use your peculiarity, it can find us faster I think."
"Well you're using yours!"
"I can't shut mine off!"
We were running through the darkness, blind.
"Emma we need a little light."
"I thought you said-"
"Screw it."
It was much easier to navigate our way now that we were out of the darkness. My ears popped, we must have entered a loop. I couldn't hear the bombs anymore, and it wasn't so cold, it felt like spring, but all we could hear was raspy breathing.
"Hullo?" Asked Millard.
"Millard! You'll lead them right to us!"
We turned the corner slowly and there were two hallways, one leading to a staircase going up, and the other to some sort of coal room with 2 sets of eyes staring back at us.
"Show yourself!" Emma yelled, her hands burning up.
"We can't, we're dead!"
Enoch chuckled. "No you're not, the dead is my specialty, I would know."
"Show yourselves, now!" Emma shouted.
"Emma! Hollows!" Jake hissed.
"Are they here?"
"No but they will be with you leading them here!" He hissed.
Two boys came out, they looked like twins, only one was taller, they linked their arms too.
"I'm Joel and Peter." Only one was talking but the others mouth was moving.
"But who's who."
"I'm Joel." Said the tall one.
"And Peter." Said the short one.
"We're going upstairs."
Jake, Emma, and Horace went upstairs. Bronwyn stayed to protect us.
"Shouldn't she be going upstairs?"
"Yes but Jake can see the monsters, he has that strength so you guys need your own."
They went up the stairs.
We were surrounded in darkness.
