Some Strange Type of Peculiar Love

Hugh's POV

It's been 10 days since Addison came by. Fiona and I have.... been together... every night since then. I have to admit though, I'm not exactly complaining.

Fiona was asleep next to me when she shot up and ran to the bathroom while shutting and locking the door.
"Fee?" I knocked.
I heard her heave as I went to the kitchen to get her water. It was only 7:56. The sun was peaking through the trees making the lake glisten. The sun was at the perfect spot where you weren't blinded, but you could still see the bright sparkles. Fiona made a high pitched squeal and I ran back into our room forgetting the water glass on our table.
"Fiona? Open up!" I pounded on the door. I heard her fumble around before the door swung open nearly eviscerating my toenail. I saw her face but before I could even register it, she was squeezing the air right from my lungs.
"My bird Fiona, are you alright?" I put my hands on her cheeks.
"I'm pregnant." She smiled. I looked past her and saw that white stick Lily nabbed her from the present.
"What?"
"I'm pregnant!"
I spun her around and kissed her, ignoring the sour taste on her lips.
"Hugh?"
"Yes my darling?" I could barley think straight. She looked more beautiful than ever.
"How about as don't spin around as much?" She smiled.
Right, being with child makes you nauseous.
"Anything for you."

We were planning to walk back to the home around 4. Millard rang us around 2 and told us he'll meet up for dinner but Lily and Ann were going to staying home.

Fiona had a white sun dress on with sunflowers on it. I was wearing a button down with black pants. Fiona keeps nagging me about getting more of a clothes selection, but I don't see the purpose. However, I did by some blue and black shirts that weren't button downs and some shorts to please her. I was shutting our wooden gate as I heard a child like giggle.
"Fiiiooonnaaaa!" Ann ran towards her and Fiona scooped her up.
"Fee you really shouldn't be—" before I could finished my Fee you really shouldn't be lifting things speech, she held her hand up to silence me with a playful smile.
"I thought you weren't coming Annie." I said.
"She wanted to come with." A voice behind me said playfully.
"Millard," I hugged him.
"Are you on your way to Miss P's?"
Fiona nodded as she put down Ann, who held her hand.
"How's Lily?" I asked. Millard laughed, "She's great, we've actually decided to keep Ann as our own." Fiona turned around and hugged him.
"Congratulations!"
"Dada?"
"Yes?"
"I'm 'hungy'."
"I think you mean hungry, sweetie. Nevertheless, we'll be there soon."
Hearing Millard being called 'dad' made my legs turn to rubber. I'm going to be a dad. What if I'm bad at it? And my child resents me?
"Hugh, are you alright?" Millard asked, "You look a little pale." Fiona frowned.
"Just 'hungy.'"I joked.
Fiona rolled her eyes and smiled. Millard grumbled something about illiteracy.
"House!" Ann's small legs ran up to Claire.
"Hi hi hi!"
"Hi Annie." Claire hugged her and they ran in the house hand in hand. Horace strode over and whispered something into Fiona's ear and she laughed. 
"Mr. Apiston, Mr. Nullings, Miss Fraunfeld, I wasn't expecting you!" Miss Peregrine said with a smile.
"Really?" Millard said skeptically.
"Of course not, I know everything." She winked.
"So you know about Ann?" Millard said nervously. I walked away towards Emma so they could have a private conversation.
"Hey Em's, I heard you're back with Jake."
Emma beamed with pride and shot Noor a nasty glare.
"We are, and more in love than ever."
"Good for you." I said trying to ignore the tension budding between her and Noor. Miss Peregrine called out for dinner while ringing the brass bell. Noor was scolded for giving Olive a ride on her shoulders in the house. I sat across from Fiona, who sat between Horace and Millard. I was sitting between Noor and Emma, and I wished I was anywhere but there. But alas, they were my family. Everyone around us was eating ham and carrots, I guess Bronwyn dropped the potatoes while bringing them to the table. Fiona looked at me.
"Fiona can grow some."
"It's fine," Enoch sighed. Bronwyn looked at her lap.
"We actually have an announcement." I smiled. Fiona blushed and Horace looked like he was about to burst.
"Well what is it?" Enoch asked impatiently, "are you going on a holiday?"
"We're having a baby."
Everyone around us started to laugh and congratulate us. Noor even cried as she hugged me. Bronwyn was a blubbering mess.
"I knew! And I didn't tell!" Horace yelled. 
"You didn't tell me?" For a moment I felt bad, but then I remembered the proposal.
"Mill, you're the biggest gossip there is!" Emma laughed.
"So is Noor!"
Noor and Millard were close friends now due to their shared love of Lily. Fiona and I have met her a few times, she seems to be a lovely girl.
"Who cares who's a gossip, you're having a baby!" Bronwyn wailed. Even Enoch had tears in his eyes. Claire and Olive were squeezing Fiona like their lives depended on it. Jake patted me on the back and kissed Emma's head. Noor seemed like she could care less about Jake and Emma's public display of affection, Lily said she wasn't really the jealous type. Miss Peregrine wiped her eyes with her napkin and cleared her throat.
"Who's up for desert?"

Fiona and I didn't get home until around 11. Fiona handed Ann, who was fast asleep on her shoulder, to Millard.
"Mommy?"
"Shh, we'll see her soon."
Ann put her thumb back in her mouth and fell back asleep on his shoulder. Fiona kissed Millard on the cheek and went into the house.
"Is it scary?" I asked. Millard laughed.
"Being responsible for something other than yourself?"
I nodded.
"No, it's not, it's terrifying." Millard sighed, "but every time I hear her laugh or when I see her smile, it's worth it."

Fiona was asleep when I came in. I put on my night clothes and melted next to her. I put my arm around her waist and kissed the nape of her neck. She sighed sleepily and I shut off our lamp.
