Trigger Warning: Blood and Suicide

Today I was going to post a really happy cute one shot, but. Someone at my school died by suicide today and its been on my mind all day. I too have attempted multiple times and have been to in patient. I have lost many family members to the same disease I am plagued by, Biporlar Disoarder. It's a hell I live in everyday, when I'm off my meds I have no mediation and do very risky things with severe erratic behavior and meanness. I once told my mom I hated her and I wished she died, I regret it every day. If anyone ever needs to talk about mental health I am here.

You are strong and loved❤️

Hugh's POV

"Bees, that's a cool one." The Polish boy said with a thick accent. He got here late last night, a refugee from the war. Emma was head over heels for him, I could tell. Horace was also looking at him dreamily. I was picking at my food like usual, my stomach growled but I could never eat more than a few bites. I stared ahead at where Fiona used to sit when the Polish boy pulled the seat back to sit down.
"Get.Up." I bit. The flowers Fiona grew around the chair subconsciously were started to wilt and turn brown despite our being in a loop— Fiona was their only life force, the only think keeping them alive.
But now she's gone.
"Fiona sat there." Claire said meekly.
The Polish boy shrugged and backed off.

3 Weeks Earlier
Hugh's POV

Fiona spent all day sleeping this past month. She wasn't hungry some days, but other days she ate everything in sight and then locked herself in the bathroom for the following hour.

"Fee?" I knocked on her door late in the night. Miss Peregrine was asleep down the hall, I could hear her lightly snore. Fiona sat up, her eyes were red rimmed and puffy. I shut the door lightly behind me and sat on the edge of her bed.
"What's going on, love?"
Her eyes were blank and shined in the darkness.
"The tried to leave me out there. I was out there for days before they left."
Fiona never told me how she ended up in the field, she got angry anytime I ever mentioned it.
"I got down after everyone left, my vines wriggled me free."
I nodded and scooted up to her.
"I was so afraid."  Her voice cracked.
"But that was years ago, you're here now."
Fiona shook her head, "Miss Peregrine tried to hide it from me, but I found it awhile ago."
"Found what?"
"This." She pulled a letter out of her pillow case.
"I know you can't read it, so I'll translate,
To whomever has Fiona Fraunfeld now, return her at once. She has been tried and convicted of witchcraft, but escaped. She must be returned where instead of depreciation, she will be burnt at the stake."
Her eyes shimmered with tears. I was sitting across from her now when I pulled her into a warm hug. She sobbed into my shoulder. I ran my fingers through her hair.
"Darling, they're all far dead now."
She sobbed harder.
"My mum wrote it, my mum."

Present
Hugh's POV

"Is she upstairs?" The Polish boy asked when we went to go watch Horace's dream, "I'd like to meet her." I got up and stomped up the stairs.
"Hugh," Emma started, but Miss Peregrine shushed her, "let him be, he needs time."

3 Weeks Earlier
Hugh's POV

I spent the night in Fiona's room. I held her while she slept, some times she woke up with a start and then cried. I've never seen anyone so tortured. Lucky for us, Emma swayed Miss Peregrine to let me stay in her room.
"I love you." She said as I walked towards the door. I walked over to her bed and hovered over her as I kissed her.
"I love you too."

I was playing soccer with Millard, Fiona was taking a bath. She seemed better today, I think her talking it out helped. Millard passed me the ball and I kicked into the goal.
"Score!" I yelled.
"Shit." Victor limped around the grass.
"Aww are you mad?" I teased.
"I rolled my ankle, I'm going to find a bandage. Don't worry, I'll be back to kick your sorry arse."

Present
Victor's POV
Hugh stomped up the stairs as Abe spoke. I was worried about him, he's been so broken lately, so alone. Mill and I try to cheer him up, but he was listless. Wyn and I have been through this before, our mother killed herself after a miscarriage. We had to live with our step father after, he was a cruel man.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset him." Abe said shyly.
"There used to be a girl here," I started. Miss Peregrine shot me a look that could kill, but I continued. "One day, she got... hurt."

Three Weeks Ago
Victors POV

I hobbled up the stairs and into the bathroom. The light was on and the door shut and locked.
"Hullo? I need a bandage."
No answer. I noticed there was water coming from under the door soaking my socks.
"Hullo?" I knocked. I heard the bath running and knew it was Fee, she was the only one who took baths willingly, the little ones had to be forced. I noticed the water on the floor was a murky red color.
"Fee!" I hollered and knocked furiously.
No answer, I couldn't even hear her move.
"Wh-"
"GO GET SOMEBODY." I shouted at Emma as I broke down the door. Fiona was fully clothed sitting in the bathtub. The water was dark red and her face was ghostly pale, she almost looked like she was peacefully sleeping. Emma screamed and fell to her knees sobbing.
"Help!" She screamed as she ran down the stairs. I picked Fiona up out of the water and sat her on the ground. I turned off the water and grabbed a towel. She had a deep vertical line going down each wrist. I wrapped the towel around them to stop the blood, but there was barley anything to stop. I heard heavy foot steps and saw Hugh at the door with Miss Peregrine.
"Fiona," Miss Peregrine gasped and put her hand over her mouth.
"Get out!" Hugh screamed, "Everyone get out!" I saw the little ones with wide eyes and tears.
"Was she breathing?" Horace asked shyly. I shook my head no.
"I'll be back." Enoch said meekly. Emma and Bronwyn were trying to calm the small kids.

Hugh's POV
Her hair was dark brown, I didn't know if it looked like that because it was wet, or because it was covered in blood.
"Fee, Fee, how could you do this?"
Her eyes were closed peacefully. I noticed the knife in her hand and threw it at the wall.
"Please wake up." I sobbed. Her skin was cold and ashen. I should have been here, I should have talked to her sooner. I should have known something was wrong. I pulled her body close to me and kissed her hair.
"I love you....I love you....I love you..."

Present
Emma's POV
"She died." I said bluntly. "He loved her, and then she died."
Abe sat there quietly. "Fresh?"
"Excuse me?" I said pointedly.
"The wound is still fresh, yes?" His thick accent made him hard to understand,
I love it.
"About a month." Claire said.
"Movie time." Miss Peregrine interrupted. Horace put on his monocle and the movie flickered on. First it was Horace trying on some new suits.
"Ugh, I want something more interesting." Enoch grumbled. Horace was too entranced by his own dream that he didn't even pay attention. The view focused to Hugh crying over Fiona, then to him in his room on his bed.
"Hor—"
Then it showed Hugh downing pill after pill, it was the same kind Miss Peregrine gave to us when we had nightmares.
"Hugh!" I screamed. We all frantically ran up the stairs and opened Hugh's door.

Present
Hugh's POV

I felt like I was floating on air. I felt so peaceful for the first time in my life. I looked ahead and saw her, Fiona.

Present
Victor's POV
Hugh was finally at peace.
