Chapter 19 Moody

School was uneventful as usual and sooner than I expected I was at C.2.R. We had awhile before OC would arrive and I didn't have much to do. I thought about it and last time I'd been in the weight room I wasn't exactly in the right mental state, then again I'm not really in good shape now either. Deciding not to dwell on it any further I made my way to the room regardless of the consequences that may come with it.

Opening the door I was invited by a vinegar like fragrance. I loved the weight room and being in it brought back so many memories, good and bad. I sat on the cushioned bench, staring into space. He's coming back, he's really coming back. The thoughts swarmed through my head but, before I could ponder over them more the door swung open and Xavier walked in.

"You still haven't talked to me," he said from the doorway.

"And you still haven't gotten a haircut."

Running a hand through his hair self-consciously he responded "Nice way to change the subject." He walked over to where I sat and squatted in front of me.

"Look Xavier, I just need some time I'm really confused and just kind of need to relax."

"Is it that bad?" he asked looking at me through his locks of amber hair and I just nodded. He stared at me for a while before coming up with a response. "Tell you what, come over this weekend and we can talk. Avery's been dying to see you since summer and we can just hang out like old times. What do you say?" he asked hopefully.

I looked up at him with a weak smile "Sure."

"Great," he said getting up. He outstretched his hand to me and I hesitantly grasped it in mine. He pulled me onto my feet and wrapped his arm around my shoulder squeezing me. "Whatever it is I'm sure it'll be fine," he whispered in my ear and we walked out the room.

He left to do something with Derek and I decided to see Sky and Josh. I know they hated being disrupted but, I don't care. Unlocking the door I saw them both sitting down on their computers Sky on the right Josh on the left. Both of their facial expressions were uneasy and tense. "What is it?" I asked and they both shot their eyes over to me.

"Rain, when'd you come in?" Josh asked with a nervous smile.

"Answer my question," I said ignoring him.

"Are you going to tell her?" he asked looking over at Sky. She sighed before typing a few more keys and standing from her seat. She walked towards the middle of both of their desks where a holographic screen was located. After hitting a few more buttons a picture pulled up, it was a logo the one that had been inscribed on Josh's hand. It was the same upside down triangle the letters Z.A.N in the middle, a star where each dot should've been.

"We found them," Skylar said turning on her heel to face me "And they're not done with us."

"Today is the first day you all will get to experience what a real day of C.2.R is like," I said. It was only Derek, Xavier, Daniel, and I today since Sky and Josh needed to stay in the labs but, on a normal day it was usually like this so it didn't bother me.

"And as much as I know you all would love to celebrate we simply don't have time for that. There's a group on our tails that goes by the name of Z.A.N and we need to get rid of them, fast before they try to strike," I said and I could feel the change in the guys' aura behind me. I hadn't gotten a chance to tell Daniel, Derek, or Xavier so this was their first time hearing all this and I could imagine how confused they were. Sighing in aggravation I said "You have three minutes to change," and with a snap of my fingers they all vanished.
