Chapter 23 Surprise Outbursts and Visits
It was Wednesday. I was sitting next to Xavier and he was not happy.
"You know what your doing is wrong?" he said like a parent scorning their child for eating a cookie and spoiling their dinner.
"Yes," I replied bland.
"And you know I won't tell anyone because it's strictly against my morals to tell a secret that's not mine?" he questioned again.
"Yes," I smirked. Sometimes Xavier's loyalty was a true gift.
He sighed running his hands through his hair--he still hasn't gotten a haircut--and exhaling "It just makes me wonder," he muttered assuming I wouldn't hear.
"Wonder what?"
"What else you're keeping from me," he said still facing forward--both of us were pretending to pay attention to the lesson by speaking with minimal mouth movement and facing away from one another.
But appalled by his words I gave up the act turning my body to face the dark brown haired boy to my left. "Xavier--"
"Ms. De' Luca would you please stop distracting those who are trying to learn?" Mr. Faye scorned.
"I would but of course that would mean someone in this classroom would actually have to be paying attention," I retorted and Mr. Faye seemed shocked at my response. I usually never back talked but with everything running through my head currently my body didn't have time to filter my snarky remarks it was using energy on more important things like staying awake--since I haven't been able to sleep properly lately.
He glared at me. "That's strike one Luca now turn around and pay attention before I take back my mercy," he said and I rolled my eyes.
"Strike two!"
"Come on I know you can count higher than that," I teased.
"Get out!" he yelled pointing towards the door and I smirked grabbing my things. "Ms. York," he said referring to a honey eyed girl "would you guide Rain to the office please?"
"No worries I know the way," I fake smiled before exiting the room and shutting the door behind me.

"I forgot to tell you guys sorry," I said as I raised my hands in surrender.
"How could you forget something like this?" Skylar asked and I rolled my eyes. She was so dramatic.
"It's really not that big of a deal guys."
"I'd say otherwise," Daniel muttered in protest.
"Look I just forgot to mention they were coming today alright so what? You know now and that's all that matters."
"You really do have a funny way of looking at things," Daniel snorted.
"Would you give me a break? My gosh it's not that big of a deal! Yes they're coming today for inspection so fucking what," I yelled exasperated.
"So fucking you should have told us!" Skylar replied and I glared at her walking away in fury before I said something I would regret and the situation got out of hand.
Xavier scolded her as well, taking my side in the argument and following me out the door. I heard Josh and Derek (mainly Josh which was odd) yelling at the two for being so harsh as I made my way through the halls but, I just kept moving.
"Rain wait!" Xavier said grasping my forearm and I turned around to face him.
"They don't get it."
