Chapter 18 The Outsider Oren
Looking at them you wouldn't see what I see. I see them as their real selves, bare and genuine but the rest of the world, the rest of the world sees them as phlegmatic, unemotional monsters. Then again that's what I saw at first glance yet something intrigued me about them and from then on I've been studying them, their past, anything I can find. Of course they know nothing of me and I doubt Rebecca said anything regarding me or my existence for that matter. I really wish our friendship hadn't ended the way it did but, there's no use in trying to change the past now. I'm sure I could get her back on my side if I really needed to after all I know more about her little Derek than she ever will. But I have promised I will not use that information unless it becomes necessary.
I sat at a lunch table near the back of the cafeteria where Rebecca would usually sit with me. It had a perfect view of "their" table yet at the same time kept me perfectly hidden. From the outside they looked like your normal badasses, austere and strict yet that's not at all what they really are. No one would be able to tell unless they really analyzed them but they were anything but badass...well for the most part at least.
Skylar Allison Peterson. She has the appearance of a tough girl but in the inside she couldn't be any sweeter. She enjoys various pop boy bands such as Five Seconds of Summer, One Direction, Midnight Red, Rixton and so many more it's literally ridiculous. She always wears a stack of bracelets on her right wrist for a reason I have yet to discover, and she's probably the most girly badgirl I have ever witnessed. She very much mirrors Rebecca except for the fact that she hides her true personality from the world unlike Rebecca who is for the most part an open book.
Next is Joshua Timothy Evins. Like Skylar his parents are very wealthy and fail to spend much time with him. He's the brains of the group, keeps everyone and everything organized. He's also one of the jokester's in the group since he always is tagging behind his beloved friend Daniel, which brings me to my next suspect.
Daniel Wren Acosta, one half of the Acosta twins. He's funny, light hearted, and carefree. He roams around with a smile on his face almost every day. His story is quite a tricky one along with his brother's; I've found most pieces to it but, unfortunately some blank spaces still remain.
Xavier Kai Acosta. Funny how much his middle name describes him, how much all of their middle names describe each other. Whether done on purpose or not they are strangely accurate to each and every one of them. Kai, it means strong, unbreakable and he indeed is both of those things or at least he believes to be. He's one of the most mysterious along with Derek, his partner in crime, literally. He can read people easily for a reason I don't think anyone knows, including him. He has a barrier so thick not even his own blood, the one he shared a womb with can knock it down. Yes, he truly is unbreakable but one day, one day he'll be destroyed and I'll make sure of that.
Derek Dustin Rivera, the one who has supposedly fallen in love with Rebecca Carelyn Stein, my Rebecca Carelyn Stein. He's stolen her from me but, when she sees the truth she'll come back I know she will. He just like his dear friend Xavier has a thick barrier, or at least used to till he found Rebecca. I doubt he even really loves her like he says. After all he used to be the schools player, just like Xavier. Who is to say he hasn't changed? After all I have seen Rebecca, or should I say Becca now--I used to be the only one who called her that--upset not too long ago. I have no idea what he could've done but, it took everything in me to not rip him to pieces.
Lastly there's Rain Falon De Luca. What a pretty name for such a sinister person. She's supposedly the leader of their "pack." She I have the smallest amount of information about, she's the most complex. You can tell by just the look in her eye she's been through something, many things, many horrid things. I have yet to find out even what one of those events could have been but, I will, I have to.
"What's your name?" a voice asked. I looked up from my plate of mashed potatoes to a pair of crisp blue eyes, she definitely doesn't attend here.
"What yours?" I asked challengingly and she took a seat across from me.
"Stephanie. Stephanie Bay Grant," she said and thrust her hand outward, across the table. I extended mine as well and responded to her handshake. In the process of doing so I couldn't help but notice a bracelet that was clamped along her wrists. It was a sliver chain with a bright blue pendant in the middle that matched her eyes.
"Oren. Oren Malik Nelson," I replied looking back up at her.
"Hmm," she hummed reaching over and grabbing the apple from my tray, rotating it in her hand before speaking again. "Malik, you mean the Arabic name that translates to master?" she asked taking a bite from the red apple.
"Yes, that would be the one," I said now giving her all my attention.
"Tell me Oren what do you know about them?" she said motioning towards the table that seated Rain, Derek, Daniel, Xavier, Joshua, Skylar, and Rebecca with her hand that still contained the red apple.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" I smirked taking the apple from her hand and biting the other side. She smirked in response probably not expecting me to say or do such a thing. No one ever does but then again isn't that why you don't judge a book by its cover?
"Witty aren't we? That's not what I was expecting," she said still staring at me, analyzing everything about me precisely.
"It's not what anyone expects. After all I am merely nothing but a nerd aren't I?" I asked teasingly. She leaned forward removing my glasses from my face.
"No, no you are not," she said twirling the glasses around in a circle by holding the tip. Looking back up at me she spoke again, placing the glasses on the table. "You are something much more it's just you've never had the chance to utilize the rest of your gifts." She stood from the table outstretching her hand once again towards me. "Come with me and I will help you live to your full potential. After all we both want the same thing, revenge."
I turned from her and looked towards the table "their" table. They will pay. Not only for Becca but for Ben too, they took two of the best things in my life away from me and now I will do worse, much, much worse.
I arose from my seat and took her small, delicate hand into mine. She smiled showing her pearly white teeth "Wise decision."
(WARNING this A/N might be long) Woah two updates! I know but, I just kind of wanted to get this one out of the way and I don't know I felt inspired today. Anyway, I know it's short but, I did that on purpose. Evil right? What do you think of Oren? Teaming up with Stephanie? Oren and Rebecca's relationship? The questions. Ahh I just really loved writing this chapter so I hope you guys liked it as well. Anyway to the right or above is Stephanie (Perrie Edwards)and Oren (Robert Sheehan). Oh and yes I'm bringing Cast back. There's no real reason as to why honestly I just think it's fun so yeah. I'm trying to figure out who should play Rain though Christina Perri, Lily Collins or Zoey Deutch? You decide. Have a Turkeyfied Tuesday! -xoxo Li.Gi 1/19/15
