Chapter 16 At Least I Can Find Things Without Burning My House Down

My phone dinged the same noise as Hazel Grace's phone, yes I'm a "The Fault in Our Stars" addict don't judge. I figured it was just Derek again trying to reach me but I turned to see who it was anyway and I'm glad I did because it certainly wasn't Derek. It was Rain. I remember exchanging numbers the day we went paintballing but, I never expected her to actually contact me. I mean head bad girl of Richard High, Rain text head nerd of Richard High, Rebecca. Or should I say Becca, agh I'm still not used to this whole bad girl thing and honestly I'm starting to think I'm not so cut out for it anymore.

I mean constantly bashed by Derek's fan girls online and in school, who knew being the badboy's girlfriend was so hard. I know he doesn't care about them or what they say but, I do. C.2.R is boosting my confidence but definitely not that much yet.

I read the text and was yet again shocked by what it said. Rain invited me to a girl's day? Now that's something I wasn't expecting. As I was flipping the thought over in my mind I received another text...from Derek. He wanted to meet up and honestly I just wanted to forget about boys for a while. I quickly responded to Rain's text saying I'd be there soon; it was definitely be better than moping around in my room with a tub of ice cream thinking about "him."

I sat my giant teddy bear Mr. Fluffers, that'd I'd been cuddling while watching Netflix for the past 3 hours with to the side and pulled back my blue and green Vera Bradley comforter getting out of bed. I walked over to my white vanity looking at my messy dirt blonde hair with now blue tips, guess I have to make myself somewhat presentable. Slipping out of my Victoria Secret sweats I put on some jeans with slight rips, a loose, navy blue shirt, and ankle boots. I put on some eyeliner and lip gloss since I was too lazy to do much more and headed out of my bedroom door grabbing my brown leather jacket on the way.

My mom was in the kitchen surprisingly, drinking on some coffee. "I'll be back I'm going out with some friends," I called heading to the front door.

"Ok," she called back not looking up from whatever she was reading. I opened the garage and hopped in my bug. It was the perfect size for me and just the cutest thing in general. I started driving jamming to "Five Seconds of Summer" in the progress. Once I finally reached my destination it didn't take long to find Rain and Sky, funny how their names coordinate with one another. They were already inside the arena so I paid the man behind the glass screen my $8.00 and he passed me my paper bracelet. Thanking him I put it on and walked through the door trying to catch up with Rain and Sky, yup still funny.

Rain was in her normal ripped jeans and studded sneaks and Sky wore her version of bad girl attire which consisted of a graphic tee, leather jacket, skirt and that stack of bracelets she always wore on her right wrist. I love how she always added her own girly flare to what she wore. She was still bad ass but just with more class.

"Hey," Rain said motioning towards me to come near them.

I walked over "Sup," I said nodding my head in acknowledgement of them.

"Ready for some fun?"

"Anything to stop thinking about 'him'," I said and she nodded understandingly.

"Let's go get some skates," Rain said and we all walked to the small booth calling out our sizes to the tall man. Grabbing our skates we sat at a small bench lacing them up.

"You've been skating before right?" Rain asked raising her eyebrows.

"Of course," I scoffed.

"Mhm," Sky hummed sarcastically. She never really talked much but, I didn't take it personal I was the same way. It's hard opening up to new people and if anyone could understand that it would be me.
