Chapter 15 Hospital Visits and Girls Day’s
Saturday came and I already knew what I would do first. Go visit Josh. I know Daniel stayed with him and there’s a chance Sky did too but, I guess I would just have to see for myself. C.2.R has their own personal hospitals for when we get injured on jobs since regular hospitals tend to ask too many questions and since I've spent a good amount of time in those hospitals myself I knew exactly where it was.
I rolled over in my queen sized bed and reached for my phone. I didn't get much sleep last night thinking about him but, I knew the guys would fill me in on how he was doing by morning. I pressed the side button on my phone and it came to life, revealing all my missed calls and texts. I clicked on them in order.Xavier’s talked about how he’d just got him checked in last night. Daniel’s was about how he hasn't awakened yet but the doctors said he was doing fine so far, and lastly Derek and Sky’s were about visiting him today. Looking at their text I saw they weren't sent too long ago and replied that’d I’d be ready in fifteen.
Putting my phone back on my nightstand I got out of bed. I brushed my teeth and let my shoulder length ebony hair flow freely. I pulled on some ripped skinny jeans and a black top. Putting on little makeup I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. Mom was nowhere to be found but, that was usual so I didn't pay it any attention. I grabbed an apple from our fruit bowl and bit into it taking a seat on a bar stool. I whipped out my phone and started swiping through various social medias waiting for Sky and Derek.
It’d been awhile since I’d actually paid attention to the latest gossip so I figured now’s a better time than ever to catch up. Nothing new happened in my absence of the medias same petty gossip and arguments going on between the same people. The only difference was that now Becca was mentioned a lot more. Figures, I mean you can’t just be the schools ultimate jock/hottie/player’s/I believe in none of these things, girlfriend and not get bashed.
I continued busing myself, laughing at people’s stupid arguments online and just taking a break from reality. My phone buzzed and I saw a text from Derek saying they were here. Throwing away my apple core I walked out the door locking it behind me and saw Derek and Sky waiting in Sky’s sliver Fisker Karma. Sky may have crappy parents but they are rich, not that that evens the plain field but, it certainly does help. I’m sure she much rather have their attention than money but you take what you can get.
I pulled open the backseat and hopped in.
“Morning,” Derek said.
“Eh,” I replied dully. I’d never been one for hospital visits but, sadly being in the industry I’m in I spend quite a bit of time in them.
“Daniel and Xavier are already at the hospital,” Sky said.
“Figures,” I mumbled under my breath. Daniel wouldn’t dare leave his best friend’s side and Xavier was probably just there so his brother wouldn’t lose all sanity. Not to mention I’d practically put him in charge of Josh knowing that Daniel couldn’t handle the job himself in his current state of mind.
“You’ve never been a really good mumbler you know?” Derek commented.
“That’s not even a real word,” Sky added.
“Exactly. I can’t really be good at something that’s not real,” I finished.
“Whatever,” Derek mumbled and the car became silent again but, not an awkward silence for we knew each other too well for anything to be awkward between us.
