Chapter 17 Saved?

        Sky walked up to me Blake in tow. "Did you get the message I sent you?" she asked clearly avid about whatever it was she wanted to tell me.

        "Yes, what's the big news?"

        "I got the tickets!"

        "Tickets to what?" I asked turning from my open locker and giving her my attention.

        She sighed not very appreciative of my apathetic behavior. "To the big Midnight Red concert Friday!" she yelled as if I was supposed to already know this information and be bubbling with joy.

        "Ooo," I shook my hands in mockery, "another boy band concert I'm overflowing with joy," I said sarcastically. She always dragged me to these things with her and I never understood why she had such interest in trivial boy bands.

        She glared at me "You're no fun," she pouted crossing her arms.

        "What's got Ms. Peachy Pie in such a mood?" Josh asked leaning against the lockers beside me using Sky's most hated name, which of course earned him a scowl from her, and he just winked in response.

        "She's mad cause I'm not all enthusiastic about 'Morning Blue' or something," I said shrugging focusing back on my locker and taking out my books for the day.

        "Midnight Red," Sky corrected from the other side of me.

        "Yeah, yeah, yeah," I replied waving her off.

        "No worries I'll go to the concert with you if it matters that much to you," Blake said comforting his girlfriend. She reached on her tip toes and pecked his cheek.

        "That's why I love you," she replied staring at him with sparkling eyes.

        "Yuck," Daniel said suddenly walking up and joining the conversation. "Could you not? I hate Mondays already and you're just worsening my morning." Sky glared at him but quickly turned back to Blake not taking her eyes off his.

        Josh and I chuckled from the side before the other couple showed up. Becca was wrapped up in Derek's arms laughing, and looking at him the same way Sky was looking at Blake while Xavier trailed behind them miserable. Spotting us he sauntered over.

        "More Becca Derek fun huh?" I asked stifling a laugh.

        "Sadly, yes," he replied shaking his head.

        "Yeah well those two," I said gesturing towards Blake and Sky "aren't any better."

        "When did all of our friends get so...." Josh trailed off looking for the proper word before Daniel replied for him.

        "Whipped?"

        "Exactly," Josh said. What he was saying was true. We were used to Sky and Blake, they've been dating since freshman year but, now we had Derek and Becca as well and that is taking some adjusting. Especially because none of us ever thought Derek would actually stay with someone beyond a day or so but, we were proved wrong. Josh, Daniel, Xavier and I still haven't found anyone yet though. Of course we've all had relationships before but, none of them really stuck. Besides, C.2.R takes up most of my time so relationships have never really ran across my mind too much.

        I slammed my locker shut turning around to face my friends. We had about three minutes before class and the people in the halls began to thin out. "Come on let's get going," I said stopping the argument from going any further. They all nodded and we went our separate ways to our multiple period one classes.
