ALEX POV

"John, should we really be doing this?" We were huddled together under his Invisibility Cloak that he apparently 'had the whole time'. I didn't believe that one bit.

"Ow." I accidentally stepped on his foot.

"Sorry."

"We're fine! I just wanted to talk to you." John shuffled forward.

"Why couldn't we wait until morning when we won't get in trouble?" I whispered.

"Because I couldn't wait."

"Where are we going?"

"Umm..." We paused. Being this close to John for a long period of time was making my skin burn in the best of ways. "I didn't think that far."

"Really?"

"Don't judge me." John poked his head out of the cloak, making sure the coast was clear, before sweeping the shiny fabric aside so we were visible in the middle of a hallway.

"What about Filch?"

"Calm down, Alex! But..."

"What? Is he here? Are we gonna get detention?" I looked around frantically.

"No! Lex, I wanted to talk to you about us. What are we?"

"I- don't know." I was not good at that kind of stuff. I had my moments, but most of the time I sucked at it. I'd never been in a relationship before, so it made sense.

" You like me, I like you, I should go for it!" I said, blurting out what Maria had told me earlier that week. After that spin move, it would take weeks for me to regain my ability to make a good one. John giggled, and I could see his smiling in the darkness with his cute smile. 

"Sorry, um, I'm not really good at this. I can't top that spin move thing that I did," I admitted, accepting defeat against myself.

"Can I try and top it?" John asked. His ninja turtle onesie made me way too happy. It fit him perfectly.

"You can try." I waited for him to make his move.

" I don't have a move," He said sadly, "But I will find one. And it will happen when you least expect it." He winked at me and became invisible.

"John?" I called out quietly into the hallway. I felt a sudden pressure on my hand, like someone was holding it. I tried to bat it away, but the pressure would not go. 

"Alexander whatever-your-middle-name-is-though-it's-probably-something-generic-like-James Hamilton, will you be my boyfriend?" John reappeared in front of me, holding my hand and on one knee. my mouth feel open and I could feel my face getting red.

"Yes, of course! Damn, that was a good move, I don't know if I'll be able to top that." I pulled him up by his hand and kissed him, smiling broadly the whole time. This was the happiest I'd been in a long time.

"James is actually my middle name."

"Really? Lucky guess."

We walked back to the dungeon holding hands, not caring if we were caught by Filch. No, we didn't care in the slightest.

John Laurens and Alexander Hamilton either had no middle name, or they are just unknown. I Just gave em middle names because it's my story and I can do what I want *ThUmBs Up*
