how's everyone doing?

and I have a question:

A or B

This is for my next fanfic after Prophecy, I'll probably post a summary of it as part of the chapter 30 intermission! The question above decides what Hamilton ship the fanfic covers... so choose wisely!

credits to _AngeIica_SchuyIer_ for the suggestion on what move Alex should make! I took some of your idea and molded it into this chapter and the chapter 31. Thanks for the idea!

ALEX POV

I could tell he was mad at me, and he had every right to be. I just need to think of a way to tell him what really happened and just who made it happen.

Thomas Jefferson could not get away with this. Eliza was right; one way or another, I will get him back for what he did to us. To John.

The whole Room of Requirement situation was very awkward for me. Of course, I was glad that John was back, but the awkward tension was so think you could cut it gently with a chainsaw. Awkward moments like that get my heart beating.

I was finally able to breathe normally when when we all left to go to our respective dormitories.

"You know you gotta toughen up if you ever want to talk to John, right?" Maria exclaimed. We were studying in the medieval-looking Slytherin common room, and per the norm, I was in desperate need of Maria's counseling.

"I know, but every time I'm around him, I just... I have no idea! Just all of these feelings and emotions and stuff come crashing in like a tidal wave." I imitated an explosion.

"It's called puberty, sweetheart." she crossed her legs, rolling up her parchment and setting it aside. "What about those moves you made?"

"It's like the eye of an hurricane. One solitary moment of confidence, and then BAM! a whole lot of shit starts pelting at your face." I shuddered at the thought of the hurricane. I prayed that those memories wouldn't come back. Who knew a metaphor could have such an impact on someone?

"You ok, Alex?"

"Yeah, just, bad memories."

"You want to talk about it?"

"Not really. I want it to have never happened in the first place." I had to change the subject before I lashed out like I had with John. It was nothing, nothing worth sharing and crying over. It was in the past. "SO, Maria, I wanna make another move," I said hurriedly.

She thankfully caught my drift and went along with the new conversation.

We came up with the perfect idea. All I needed was John to agree to talk with me. The hardest step.

----

Potions class, ever the bane of my existence. The only person that made it bearable was John, and now that he thought I cheated on him, my perspectives were changed dramatically. His usual smile was gone. He even messed up on a review of the cure for boils, a potion you learn in your first year.

Jefferson had this smug look on his face the entire class. Immediate expulsion was the consequence that kept me from wiping the look off his face every time he laughed to himself. Even if he was laughing about something else.

I growled at him as we both tried to fit through the doorway at the same time. He got through first, winking at me before walking away. My hands were up and I was ready to choke him. I got ten feet away before someone abruptly ended my pursuit by walking right into me. I landed on my side, protecting my head with one of my hands. I tried to move my other appendage, but it was trapped by a pair of muscular, tanned, and freckled arms. I turned on my back, and blushed furiously when I realized who had bumped into me.

John's hair was hanging around his face, framing his cheekbones in a way I had never seen before. His face was heated too and I could tell that I wasn't the only one uncomfortable with the way our bodies were touching in the worst places.

John was definitely a top.

"Fuck," He mumbled, getting up quickly. John, being the gentleman that he was, helped me stand. He let go of my hand as soon as my feet had a secure grip on the ground. Did he not feel that? He had to've felt that.

"Hey, John..."

"Sorry for running into you. I have to go." I knew this would happen.

He turned to leave. I thought about grabbing his arm, but my heart voted against it.

"John, wait! I need to talk to you."

"I have to get to class," he said dismissively. I knew he was lying.

"You have a free block now," I contested. We had memorized each other's complex schedules so that we could walk the other to class.

"And you have a class now. Go, our else you'll be late." I was staring at his back. I did have Herbology in 5 minutes, but it could wait.

"You're more important," I said hesitantly, wondering if I had taken it too far.

He sighed and turned back to me.

"You have one minute."

"I'll be at the Owlery tonight. Come at 6:30 exactly. If you want to. Just give me a chance to explain, ok? It was really not what it looked like."

there was a beat of silence.

He nodded solemnly and left for his normal library spot. I skipped class to go to the library, wearing my hood so that he wouldn't see me.

You're probably thinking, the Owlery smells like bird shit, why are you asking John to meet you there?

Because of the view.

From a certain point, if one looks out the window, miles of forest and mountains stretch as far as the eye can see. the Owlery was the tallest point in the castle, so all I had to do was pick the best place and move some owl nests around.

"Ow! What the shit, owl?" I rubbed my arm, which was now filled with yet another scratch. I flipped the bird at the bird, and it hooted angrily before flapping its wings and flying out the window. Using a levitation spell, I moved aside the owl beds and replaced them with cushions from the Room of Requirement.

The bottom of the window and the ledge I had chosen were in line, so two people could sit right outside the windowsill and dangle their feet out. I wiped the blood off my arm and stood up, being careful not to hit my head again on the ledge above. Ok, Alex, you. Got this. Just cross your fingers and pray that John comes.

"Is anyone in here?"
