JOHN POV
The whole group was waiting for me in the courtyard, and they had gotten me a sandwich. Peggy had even brought Lafayette and Hercules, whom I had gotten to know better. They were officially part of the Hamilsquad. Why it was named after Alex, I had no idea.
"Hello everyone! And please don't mind the scales, my potion went haywire." The squad's eyes widened at the sight of my green skin that was currently shinning in the afternoon sun.
"Did Snape not give you an antidote?" Peggy said, running up to me and squishing my face with her hands.
"He told me to see him after school for it."
"Frickin Snape..."
"Does anyone know where Eliza is? I haven't seen her all day."
"I haven't seen her either," Peggy said. I glanced at Angelica, and she shook her head.
"Mon ami, maybe she's just been at the library all day. Or she doesn't feel good enough to go to classes. We shouldn't assume the worst." Lafayette said, taking a piece of baguette from his plate and eating it. He rested his head on Hercules's shoulder. I ship it.
"Yeah, you're probably right."
Everyone ate their lunches, talking and chatting with one another in the beautiful and crisp fall air. Leaves were falling from the trees, twirling to the ground in crimson and orange helices. Peggy lay sprawled across Maria's lap, and Maria would twirl Peggy's curly hair. Angelica sat up against a tree, her knees up and a book in her hands. Alex lay on the grass, looking at the sky and pointing out various shapes in the clouds that nobody could agree on. Hercules and Lafayette were gossiping about Gryffindor drama. I smiled at the sun, grateful that I had all of these people that liked me for me. Well, most of me. I need to tell everyone about that.
Alex wouldn't look me in the eyes. He kept striking up words with the rest of the Hamilsquad, but his conversation with me was no where to be seen. Was it me? I don't think I did anything wrong... Or maybe I did and I didn't even know it. It always happens that way.
"Hey John, you ok?" Peggy said, tilting her head. "Your scales are all... dim, if you know what I mean." The group giggled.
"Yeah, No, I'm fine." I answered, laughing it off. "I just hope that whomever I have to duel doesn't use Sectumsempra on me, I've already lost enough blood. How did Veronica know that spell? I've never heard of it Ilvermorny, or here."
"She told Alex and I that it was handwritten inside of her potions notebook," Maria said.
"Whoever came up with that spell must have a lot of enemies," Angelica reasoned, taking a sip of her pumpkin juice.
"Hey, guys?" Hercules said, catching our attention. We all looked at him in anticipation. "I think we're late for class."
Everyone scrambled to get to class after realizing what time it was. My stomach was doing flips as Maria, Alex, and I ran to Professor Washington's classroom.

We were all out of oxygen by the time we got to the classroom, but nobody was there.
"Look." Alex pointed to a message on the chalkboard.
