(Dani.)
I left my last class of the day, heading to detention.
I've never had detention before, I don't even know what you do there. I had some idea...probably like nothing or reading or homework or something. I don't know.
I pushed the door open to the classroom it was held in. There were like two other people in there. The desk at the front was open so I slid in there.
An older man was sitting in the desk, I'm assuming was the teacher.
"Alright, you can sit here and be quiet. Read, or work on homework." He told us and went back to writing in the notebook he had.
Somebody walked in "Sorry, I'm late." They said. I felt him take the seat next to me.
"Hey." The guy whispered not-so-discretely. I turned around and looked at him. He looked like a trouble maker.
"Hi?" I asked. All the kids in there were looking at us, the man couldn't hear.
"I've never seen you around..." He said leaning on the desk. "Well, yeah..I'm new." I awkwardly said turning back around and trying to avoid eye contact.
"Well, you should get to know me." He said..next thing I knew his hand was on my arm. Everyone besides the man in charge was staring.
For some reason I thought of Gage. Why? If he were here would this guy even be messing with me?
"Uh. Whatever." I said trying to get him to leave me alone. Why me? The girl sitting across the room was prettier I think, or a better option anyway.
"What's your name?" He asked tracing patterns in my skin. I shivered and pushed his hand away, "Look, I'm just gonna read." I said firmly pulling a book out of my bag.
He put his hands up in mock surrender. "Fine." He said still with that weird grin on his face. I breathed a sigh of relief and began reading the book.

Once detention was over I went back to the dorm. Today was tiring, and on top of that I had homework to do.
I unlocked the door with the key, and Lola was already back from practiced sprawled out on her bed. She was sweaty and tired looking.
"Hey." I said dropping my bags on the floor and pulling a drink from the mini fridge. "Hey, how was detention?" She asked me.
I thought of the experience with that guy, but decided on not sharing it. I didn't want to think of him anymore.
"I read." I said pulling the notebook from my bag, and opening a text book to copy vocabulary words. "How was track practice?" I asked her.
She sat up, regaining breath that she had been trying to catch before.
"Fine, Logan doesn't have football work outs so he runs and he was there, and Gage was too." She added quietly. I smirked "Logan?" I asked her.
She rolled her eyes "You know he's cute." She said. "I'm not saying he isn't...you like him." I accused crossing my arms. "Please, it's barely been a week." She groaned and I laughed at her.
"Whatever." I said finishing the work, and closing to book.
"What do you want to do?" I asked her. "Let's go get some food, I'm starving." She said hopping up.
"Okay." I shrugged throwing my bag over my shoulder.
I didn't know if Gage and Logan were gonna be here yet or not, I know we all sit at that table regardless of whenever we come. I hope they do.
We both walked across the main hallway and down the stairs into the cafeteria.
"Good, our table is open." Lola said as we went into the line. The one cool thing about boarding school is how laid back it is.
You can Just kind of go, her whatever you want and chill out in the cafeteria.
We walked back to our table, disappointment filled me up when the guys weren't there. I don't know why..it's just cool to have a group of good friends.
"So, if we have our license and a car we can leave on weekends?" I asked to confirm the plan. Lola nodded "Yeah, but not overnight." She explained and I nodded.
"I don't have a car, but my license..." I trailed she nodded "me too, we should go shopping." She told me.
Tomorrow was Saturday, the idea seemed more and more appealing.
"Without a car?" I asked her. "What without a car?" Logan asked sitting by Lola, Gage kind of awkwardly slid next to me.
"Well we were gonna do something this weekend, we just don't have a car." Lola told him and I nodded. "Dude, I have a car. We should all go do something." Logan responded seeming excited.
Both of them were sweaty from running, I didn't care though. Sometimes it's cute.
"Alright cool." I said taking a bite of the salad I got. Recently I've been trying new things since being away from home.
"Yeah." Gage said leaning back. "One thing though...we were going to the mall..." Lola bit her lip. Logan jokingly squeezed his eyes shut.
"I try to avoid the mall, but I'll make an exception." He said looking at her. It was kind of cute, Gage and I both grinned at them but almost laughed at the sight.
"Yeah, man they have a foot locker." Gage shrugged to Logan. "Yeah and you guys can come to Victoria's Secret with us!" I teased putting my hand on my face.
"Alright smart ah-" Logan began but Lola cut him off. "Watch your mouth, Winston." Lola said using his last name.
"Your name is Logan Winston?" I asked giggling a bit. "Your name is Dani!" He exclaimed, "Okay, fair enough." I shrugged drinking my water.
"How was detention?" Gage asked me, facing me. My stomach turned a bit...maybe because I wasn't expecting to be singled out by him.
"So much fun, it was a party. You shoulda been there." I said, smirking. "You're so sarcastic." He laughed and his laugh was like the cutest thing ever.
Man, I've got it bad.
"Nah, we should have been there." Logan sighed, he's kind of awesome. He's always happy and he's so understanding about things.
"Don't say that. It's okay, you guys made up for it by running ." I shrugged and they cracked smiles.
Then I realized something...
How easy it would be to lose
Them.
They're all athletes, and good looking, and super fun. What do I have?
I forced a smile "So what time?" Lola asked.
"I'll text you." Logan said leaning back in his chair. "Ooooh you have her number." I cooed and he leaned forward taking his cupcake he and gotten and shoving it in my face.
Something that reminded me of my twin, Jack. And a hint of sadness that I hadn't talked to them In about a week.
"Logan!" I screeched as all three of them laughed, "I'm gonna get you back." I shook my head grabbing napkins.
I wiped my face down "You missed a spot, Dani." Lola said pointing to my cheek.
"Let me help." Gage said taking the napkin, and cleaning it off.
I tried not to blush, or pretend it didn't mean much.
"Well let's exchange numbers." Logan said and I put my phone on the table, so did Gage.
Guess who got his number?
