(Dani.)
We walked back upstairs and Gage's little siblings followed. Ava was pretty and I saw a hint of Gage in her, same with Tyler.
"This is my room, you'll be staying here with me." Ava smiled as I followed her into the room dropping my bags down. There were actually two twin sized beds there.
"I've always had this extra one in hopes for a little sister." Ava laughed a little pointing to the bed I would take. I giggled "Don't give up." I said.
Tyler and Gage followed in, Gage trying to appease Tyler. I wondered what it would be like to be away from your family for a year. I guess I'm about to find out though.
"Why were you gone?" Tyler asked him staring up at him. He looked uncomfortable and his eyes shifted over to mine. "I had a lot at school." He said playing around with Tyler.
Tyler frowned but shrugged. "I don't like school."Me either buddy." He said as Tyler ran out of the room.
"Hey, Dani do you want me to show you this river we used to go to?" Gage asked me. Being alone with him again? Yes.
"Yeah." I said following him outside. We went through his back yard and out into the woods.
"It's a steep way down, we have to be careful." He told me motioning to the area down to the river. I could hear the running water and it hitting the rocks.
"Wait.." Gage said holding an arm out in front of me, looking like something was wrong with his usual pathway.
It was really narrow and looked hard to get down.
"Okay, get on my back." He said. I raised an eyebrow "What? Are you sure?" I asked resting my hands to my sides. He nodded "Yeah, come on. I lift." He smiled.
I giggled and got on his back. It was kind of scary looking down at the pathway. "I gotcha, you trust me right?" He turned his head to the side looking at me.
I hadn't thought about it but I obviously do trust him.
"Yeah." I breathed, as he grabbed onto a tree branch and I could tell we were about to go down this trail. "Alright. Hang on, this is gonna be scary by the way." He smiled beginning to climb down there.
And it kind of was, it was a narrow, steep pathway that not even two people could fit on.
He seemed focused along the way down, and I tried to not grip onto his arms that much.
We finally reached the end right where the river began and there were rocks, plus the water flowed rapidly hitting the rocks.
There was one in particular that was huge and I sat down on, so did gage. "Thanks for carrying me down." I smiled dipping my feet in the water.
"No problem, you're like the one person I don't hate so if you fell that would suck." He said smiling, it was a joke. I giggled "Wow,thanks." I said shaking my head.
Suddenly my phone was buzzing "Oh gosh, I forgot I was gonna call Lola." I said reading her name from the caller ID.
I hit accept "Hello?" I asked. "Hey! Did you guys get there safe? Is it fun?!" She bombarded me with questions.
"Yeah, yeah. What's up? " I asked putting the phone on speaker. "Oh we got to the beach house about an hour ago, and settled in. Florida is beautiful!" She exclaimed. I giggled "I know I lived on the state line." I said.
I could hear a bunch of people and Logan's voice. "Oh, hey guys!" He exclaimed sounding just as excited. "Hey." Both of us said in unison.
"Oh yeah, did you get the email from the school yet?" Lola asked. "No." I answered. "Yeah, they moved spring formal up to Monday night." She said sounding kind of annoyed at it.
"What!?" I asked, I assumed I'd be going. I was hoping Gage would asked me since he technically kissed me twice and I liked him and I went to freaking Georgia with him.
"Yeah, are you guys going?" She asked me. We exchanged eye contact. "Ummm...probably." Gage said shrugging.
"Okay, don't. My friends in Florida have a dance here and we've got some extra space and wanted you guys to come to Florida and spend the rest of break with us." Logan's voice had taken over.
The idea was appealing but there were obvious setbacks. "I don't know.." I trailed looking at Gage who had the same confused facial expression.
"Guys, come on. Live a little." Logan tried to persuade and I laughed. "Let us think about it and we'll call you back in like five minutes." Gage had said. "Alright, talk to you then." He said hanging up.
I set my phone down, "Florida?" I asked him. We lived on the state line so we were constantly in Florida, going to the beach and hanging out there. It was amazing.
"Yeah, I mean it sounds cool." He admitted.
"You think we could?" I asked, beginning to think about the money issues and everything else that would be involved. "I mean, maybe." He said running a hand through his hair.
"What about money?" I asked him. "Well... We wouldn't have to pay for room or food-" he began. "We wouldn't?" I asked him.
He shook his head, "Nah. I know Logan's friends who own the beach house. Lee and Trent. It'll be free trust me." He said pressing his hands to the rock. I nodded slowly.
"I do have some extra left over from last month." I said shrugging. My car wasn't too much in gas either which would help.
"My parents would give some gas money to drive to school." He said putting air quotes around school meaning florida. I nodded.
"I don't see why not, your dad wouldn't care would he?" He asked me. That wasn't even a problem. I wouldn't tell him. "I'm not telling him, he doesn't even know I'm in Georgia." I said with a smile growing on my lips.
His eyes widened. "Dani, you're crazy." He shook his head. And I didn't even know what took over me next. I kissed him.
In my head I was saying it over and over.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
When we pulled back he smiled. "So will you go to that dance with me?
