(Dani)
I walked closely beside Lola as we entered the cafeteria. It was huge.
"I think this is the line." Lola said pointing at the kitchen area. I nodded and we started toward the kitchen.
We both grabbed plates and you just kind of decide from there, all we had to do was show the people our lunch cards.
I sat down with Lola at an open table in a corner. I stared at the food and then again, thought of my family. I'd usually be having dinner with them.
"As much as I already miss home..this place is pretty cool." Lola said taking a bite of the veggies on her plate. Athletes.
I had some too, again another habit from home carried over.
"Yeah." I agreed glancing around "it is." I added. I'm just still confused about it is all.
"Hey...is it okay if we sit here?" A boy asked, he looked over his shoulder motioning to his friend.
Both of them were cute, the second was really cute. The first one had black hair and grey eyes, he sat next to Me. The second one had brown hair and big brown eyes, over all he was so cute.
"Are you guys new?" Lola asked them, suddenly I felt kind of self conscience. The one I thought was cute was sitting right across from me.
"I'm Logan." The black haired one said. "I'm Gage." The other said making minimal effort to look at us.
"I'm Lola." She said smiling big, "I'm Dani." I said quietly taking a sip of water. Then Gage glanced up like he needed to pay attention to just that part.
"Dani? Really?" Logan asked me. I nodded, I didn't feel like going into the whole 'it's short for Daniele' thing right now, I mean they can obviously tell its hairy for something.
"You guys are new?" Lola asked, taking another bite of food. "Yeah, well kinda. We know our way around the school. We both had brothers that went here and we went to the ninth grade center." Logan rambled on.
It wasn't annoying though, he rambled in a cute way. It sort of reminded me of Lola and I noticed their instant connection.
"That's cool." Lola said, propping her elbows on the table.
Logan nodded, "You don't talk much...do you?" He asked me. I shrugged "I don't know." I answered and Gage shifted uncomfortably.
"It's okay, he doesn't either." He said pointing a thumb to Gage.
I smiled and kind of focused on picking at the food as they talked. I wasn't used to this..it wasn't like at home.
Lola and Logan were talking about some TV show or something and it was non stop. Quiet funny actually, it must be nice to connect with someone like that.
Let's just say my past relationship didn't work out.
"Are you alright?" A new voice asked. I looked up seeing that Gage asked me. He had a cute voice, it was kind of raspy but adorable.
I probably almost blushed. Nobody that looked like him would want something to do with me..right?
"Yeah..? I'm fine." I told him running a hand through my hair nervously. It was the first time I had seen him smile. Which was even better.
I smiled back "You seemed upset..I don't know." He said hiding his smile while staring at his food. "No...just nervous? I don't know." I said getting up and dropping the foam tray in the trashcan behind the table.
"You'll like it here, trust me." Logan interjected. I smiled and nodded but I wasn't so sure. Logan seems like the kind of guy who likes everything.
"Hey what time is it? We have class tomorrow.." Lola trailed searching around her purse for her phone. "Um, 7:00pm." Logan said already checking the watch.
I didn't even know people still had watches.
"Man, we should go. I'll see you around..?" Lola asked with a smile as we stood up. "Yeah. I hope." Logan smiled back.
"Bye." I said offering my hand as a wave giving a smile to the guys. "Bye." I heard Gage call back.

I sat on my bed, brushing though my wet hair. Lola came out of the bathroom with a towel in her hair.
"So what did you think of Logan and.." She paused not remembering his name. "Gage?" I asked and she nodded.
"They seem cool." I said shrugging like it was no big deal. But cute guys would have never just sat down with me at home
"And hot." She breathed collapsing on the bed. I laughed at her. "Yeah, I know." I said between laughs.
"Man..maybe this place won't be so bad...you know?" She asked me.
I shrugged. I have no idea what it's going to be like at all.
"Yeah...well we better get to sleep. Class tomorrow..." I trailed pulling the covers over me which were the only thing I felt like I had left from home.
