(Dani.)
He stared into my eyes as I had just told him a secret.
"I write songs ." I breathed, that was it. I barely told anyone because instantly it became "Omg! Show me your songs." And I'm shy.
"You play guitar too?" He asked me, looking behind both of us at my guitar propped up. "Yeah." I said picking it up.
"Do you sing?" He asked me. This always made me uncomfortable, the only knowledge I had was middle school chorus.
"Kind of." I said biting down on my lip. "Can you sing and play something?" He asked me, and because it was Gage...I wanted desperately for him to like my skills.
"Ok." I said meekly. I started playing the intro to Taylor Swift's "Begin again" Taylor swift is my favorite and that song was the first that came to mind.
I stopped about halfway through because I didn't feel like doing the whole song. "Wow, that's pretty good." He smiled. Man, I had really gotten lost looking at him.
He's so cute.
"Oh, thanks." I said running a hand through my hair. "I play piano." He suddenly said. Piano. I loved it when people played piano.
"That's cool! You have to play for me." I smiled and he blushed and stared down. Boys blush? "Maybe. How'd you learn guitar?" He changed the subject.
"My ex boyfriend's older brother played." I blurted, ex. Adam was my ex boyfriend.
"Oh." Was all he said. "Yeah, I picked it up when I went to his house." I told him thinking back.
I started dating Adam most two years ago. I was a freshman and I was 14 it was the beginning of the year. He was a junior and 16.
He played football with Jack and was tall, cute, and easy to fall for. We dated for about a year he was 17 almost 18, and I was 15 almost 16 when we broke up.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked him, oh wait. Just did.
He nodded rubbing his hands on his pants. "Why is Marigold like so obsessed with you?" I asked him. His eyes widened. Did I cross the line?
I never really liked him and she was always around him.
"Oh, uh. I don't know she's annoying." He awkwardly said. "We used to date-is probably why." He quickly added.
Something inside me broke. Even if she's annoying, and fake she's pretty. And he used to date her, so maybe he's not over her. And maybe I'm spilling everything to a crush I don't have a chance with.
"Oh. Are you guys still like.." I started but he interrupted "No. She's weird and annoying and fake, and a thot." He rolled his eyes. I giggled at the use of slang.
"What about your ex?" He asked me. "What do you mean?" I asked him pressing my palms to the bed which caused pressure to my hands.
"About him.." He trailed.
"Oh, he was nice. He played football and baseball. He was two years older. The only problem was why we broke up." I said looking into his eyes.
"Why?" He asked just above a whisper.
I didn't mind him asking personal things, only this was embarrassing.
"I wouldn't sleep with him." I said awkwardly. It was true, I was 15. It still feels weird.
"That's why he broke up with you?" He asked in disbelief.
I nodded, it was painful too. I liked him a lot. Possibly loved, so for him to dump me over something that small crushed me.
Gage ran a hand through his bow messy hair.
"Well he lost." He said offering a smile.
Everything had changed.
