Gahhhh thanks for reading my story, I'm such a weirdo and you guys rock for reading my stories :)
(Gage.)
It was a typical Monday in the cafeteria. I sat across from Dani and Logan and Lola kept talking and playing around.
He told me all about how he slept with her the other night ago, I don't think it was for a sleezy reason. I think he really likes her.
I never knew what "really liking " someone meant. But I know now..I like Dani. I don't know if it's in the "really" stage.
I just feel weird to actually like someone again. I mean once I had a girlfriend I really liked before boarding school but we were 14. Then everything when downhill last year when I partied too much.
The thing is, she's coming back with me during spring break. I didn't ask her to because I liked her, I asked her to to soften the tension between me and my parents.
She's the only one who really gets me too, going alone wouldn't work and bringing someone else wouldn't either.
It wouldn't have to be an awkward thing either, I can play it off.
But did Dani like me? I kind of hoped so, I mean she's really cool.
"Hey, after school you wanna get some coffee?" She asked me snapping me out of my thoughts. "Yeah, cus we
Gotta plan the trip." I told her nodding.
She smiled "Yeah, it sounds good." She said smiling. Her eyes looked like a rare shade of green, I hadn't even noticed that.
"Hey, you guys." Logan said nudging my arm. "Yeah?" I said following his hand as he pointed to the poster on the wall.
It read "SPRING FORMAL. APRIL 2nd 6:30 pm"
The spring formal was kind of like prom except sophomores can go, it basically is a prom. They just don't feel the need to exclude sophomores if we already got into this school.
It was a huge deal, last year I went with Marigold and we broke up that night.
"Cool." I commented avoiding topic about the spring formal. The spring formal did give me an idea though.
(Dani.)
I held tightly to the cup of warm coffee I just got. Me and Gage went to get it right after school to talk about the trip.
And even though it seems weird to go on this trip, we are, sadly just friends. I really do like him, but I think I can put that aside. He doesn't like me anyway.
"So the trip." I said sitting across next to him, we were in the lounge.
"Yeah, if you can sure I'll take care of everything else. My sister would be happy to get a roommate." He smiled leaning closer to me.
"Okay, cool. You think she won't hate me?" I quickly asked twirling a lock of hair. It's a nervous habit.
He shook his head "Dani, dude. I don't know anyone that hates you." He said shaking his head. I had to stare at the ground to avoid him seeing me blush.
"Okay. Should we stop at Walmart before we leave and get candy and stuff?" I asked him quickly changing the subject.
He nodded "Yeah, that sounds awesome. Are you a good driver though?" He asked me smirking.
"Pshh. Am I a good driver?" I mocked throwing my hair back, I was actually kind of nervous about having to drive that far. I guess it wouldn't be different than when my dad had me drive from Alabama to Tennessee.
"Don't crash us." He warned obviously not being serious. I smiled and rolled my eyes "No promises." I said jokingly and widening my eyes.
He shook his head and took a sip of the drink. I recognized a few kids from classes that were staring at us. Maybe they thought we were a couple...I kind of liked the idea of that.
Only it wasn't real.
"So you sure your parents are okay with this?" I asked nervously pressing my hands to my face. He nodded quickly "Yeah they're fine with it. You're a good influence and they'll like that." He smiled.
"Okay, then I think we're set." I said rubbing my hands on my jeans.
"But don't distract me while I'm driving." I said, getting up to leave and throwing my cup away. He did the same and followed me out.
"Like this?" He asked poking my sides. "Oh my gosh! Gage!" I exclaimed pulling my arms down to my sides. "Or this!?" He asked grabbing my arm and pulling me toward him.
I laughed "Yeah like th-" I started but was cut off when he kissed me.
Kissed me.
Gage kissed me, finally.
It was kind of like a "Yes, finally feeling" but then it was a nervous "What if this changes something?" Then again I didn't care. I had wanted this for a while. I was sure of it.
He pulled away and kind of looked at the ground.
"Yeah that's gonna distract me." I said trying to use humor to calm it. He actually let out laughter, it sounded compressed and nervous.
He reached the stair case to the dorms that the boys lived in. "Alright, Dani. I'll see you tomorrow." He said waving to me. He still wore a smile.
"Bye." I said, but he had left.
