(Dani.)
The first couple nights were basically the same, we all sat around and told stories and got to know each other more and more. Kenzie brought her new boyfriend over named Alex.
He was kind of soft, but really good looking.
When we went shopping we all got our dresses for that dance thing, Lee says it's more like a party. And I got a bathing suit and a couple of other things.
Honestly I was super excited. The dance was actually tonight, and I was going with Gage. It'd kind of show Kenzie how to back off.
(As obsessive as I may sound)
We were all focusing today on getting ready, and getting through this dance. The rest of the week we were gonna let loose.
As I sat with Kayla, Lola, And Lee in one of the big living rooms getting ready, I was finally starting to feel like I had real friends to talk to.
Kenzie would periodically come in and out but was dealing with Alex.
"So Kayla, who are you going with?" I asked as she spread the wrinkles out of her dress. She had straightened her dark brown hair and it was gorgeous.
Lee's hair was in a curly bun, Lola had wild curls done and mine was just in regular curls left long.
"David-or Junior." She said sheepishly looking at the ground.
"They've been best friends for years now." Lee said flickering her eyes over to Kayla, implying that something was going on.
"Yeah? What about Noah?" I asked confused, thinking about the tall tan guy I met earlier. "He and Chase usually pick up girls." Kayla rolled her eyes.
"It's such a shame because they're nice guys, they need serious girls. I'm so glad Gage got on the right track." Lee said shaking her head. I nodded understandingly.
"Yeah. I mean Chase is Logan's brother...he would be nice." I said shrugging. They all nodded in agreement.
"You guys, we need to change. The boys are waiting downstairs." Kenzie said taking her dress in her hands.

"You look nice." Gage smiled once we all met out front. He looked better though, the suit and tie complimented him. "You look better." I said looking at the sand that we stood in.
"Nah, but I have a...question." He said scratching his head awkwardly. "Okay..?" I said letting my hands fall to my sides.
"Will you- could...could we be like official now?" He asked avoiding eye contact. He asked me out, officially. Finally.
"Yeah." I said kind of laughing at his nervous tendencies. I was finally Gage's girlfriend? Not just the obvious friends with benefits title.
"Cool." He said, "Cool!?" I questioned laughing a little. His cheeks got a little red. "I think we should go." He told me.
I handed him my keys. "You drive there." I said looking down at my heels. That'd be a disaster for driving.
We got in the car and had to follow Lee and Trent to the location.
I smoothed out my dress, it was a long black one with slits in the side. It had a sweetheart neckline and was a log shot from anything I had ever worn...but I liked it.
"So have you ever been to one of these dance things?" I asked him playing with a curl. I didn't want to act all weird now that we were a couple.
"Yeah." He said cooly, my mind instantly started to believe that he and Kenzie would have gone together. "They're fun, and there's like no rules whatsoever." He smiled.
I returned it weakly, but the last time I went to a dance was prom with Adam and that's right when we broke up.
"Okay, we're here." He said parking my car. You could tell that he doesn't drive much by his skill level. I wasn't gonna call him out though, it's fine.
We stepped out and everybody arrived pretty much at the same time. It was at the local community center which was transformed into some kind of themed dance. It was for a spring festival.
"Hey, man. You bring a flask?" David teased Gage shoving his shoulder lightly. He shook his head "Nah man." "I'm sure Noah's got some." David said this time a more serious tone staring at Noah who seemed carefree.
"Is something wrong?" Gage asked narrowing his eyes at Noah. David shrugged and Kayla came up playing with the ends of her dress.
"Nah, I'm just hoping he doesn't do anything stupid this time. " David said. "What happened last time?" I interjected. "Oh, he got arrested. He was being stupid and it was under aged drinking." Kayla explained.
I nodded understandingly. Jack would have loved this place, I needed to text him sometime. That is if he'd respond.
Music blared as we walked inside, there were a lot of people there. People I didn't recognize swayed to the music or walked around mingling.
Kenzie and Alex walked in, as much as I didn't like her and her dress was too revealing she looked pretty in it. Alex seemed to be a little bored looking or upset.
I was kind of watching them and zoning out of conversation. Why would he even be with her? Maybe he's just like her...why would Gage be with her?
"Hey, dance with me." Gage said breaking my thoughts and pulling me by the hand. I smiled at him, "Okay." I said looking into his brown eyes.
It didn't matter if he had been with Kenzie or other girls now he was mine. But although he was clean, I wanted confirmation.
"Gage, are you sure you're ready to...leave your old life style behind?" I asked biting my lip and attempting to dance as well as he lead. He nodded "Yeah, I have you now. I am." He smiled proudly.
I just hoped his sweet words held truth. "Okay." I said.
The song stopped and we walked back over to David and Kayla. David did have something to drink but he wasn't drunk. Not yet anyway.
For a good half hour we carried a conversation with them, every now and then I'd check the dance floor looking to see if anyone from our group was on there.
After around 35 minutes, Lee and Trent came over to us panicked. "Have you guys seen Noah or Chase?" Trent asked, not as frantic looking as Lee did.
We all shook our heads. "Why?" I asked him. "Chase just called me sounding drunk. We can't find Logan or Lola anywhere and we need to find those two." Lee explained pressing her finger tips to her forehead.
"Oh gosh." Gage shook his head. "Dani, can you help us look?" Lee asked me. I quickly nodded wanting to help out my new friends.
"Gage could you stay and make sure that the rest of them stay sober? Dani probably knows the area better." Trent suggested. We all agreed on the plan and left to go look for the guys.
