(Dani.)
The books in my hands couldn't get any heavier as I walked up to the third floor to the "lounge"
The lounge was a place where kids could hang out, study, watch Tv and hang out and stuff. They close it at 9pm so kids can't stay out that late.
Lola texted me to meet her here, and I was hoping that I wouldn't be third wheeling her and Logan. And maybe I wanted Gage to be there, because I liked him and it drove me insane.
The whole thing with Marigold kept swirling in my head, I don't know weather or not that party would be a good plan. But is it good to ignore it?
Would that help any future hope I have of fitting in?
...I thought I was okay with not fitting in.
I shook my head and pushed the door open in the lounge. A few other groups of kids were in there.
There were two big TVs and couches and chairs on each side of the room. Also the place you can buy snacks from.
I scanned the room feeling out of place standing here alone, then I could see Lola and Logan there. They say at one table that wrapped around in a U shape. More like a booth.
I dropped my stuff on the table and slid in. "I know you two didn't have me come here to be a third wheel." I sort of teased opening my science book.
"Nope, I'm here too." Gage said sitting down and handing everyone cokes. "Good." I commented, taking a piece of paper out.
"Why, cus you love me?" He teased.
Ha, yeah.
"Yep, that's why." I said flatly taking a sip of the drink.
"Please. I wish you two would get together." Logan said shaking his head and keeping his arm around Lola. I craved a relationship like that.
"Please. Logan, I wish you'd stop saying that." I mocked throwing my head back.
He shook his head, and chugged back like half the bottle of coke. "It'd be cute though." Lola commented and I rested my head in my hands, Gage laughed, and Logan smiled.
"Dani." A sharp voice asked. Taylor stood there, fiercely holding onto Tanner's arm like she was afraid he'd run away. He looked tired yet on edge.
I turned my head toward her, "Hi Lola, Logan." She said sweetly till her eyes landed on Gage. "Hey, Gage." She said uncomfortably.
I thought about Gage dating her best friend and dumping her. Yikes.
"Yeah?" I asked sitting up straighter. "Are you guys coming to the party? Because we need to get count for drinks and stuff.." Taylor trailed.
"Sounds good!" Lola cheered, Logan shrugged "Alright." He agreed and my eyes met Gage's because it's like we were the only ones who knew.
"See you guys there." She said dragging Tanner Away.

"I think you should wear black." Lola told me searching her closet. I sighed and sat back in the spinning chair, and faced the mirror.
Although I had done my make up, and it was bolder than usual I still dipped the brush in pressed powder and dabbed more on my face.
My hair was straightened flat, and lip gloss stuck like glue. I looked older, but I felt different. I didn't know what I felt.
Lola was dressed in a black romper. It was stunning and complimented her perfectly.
Maybe Gage was mad at me about this, or mad in general. Would he even go? He had to. I couldn't be alone here.
So far I had on dark skinny jeans, black ankle boots, and a grey colored tank top. "Here!" Lola smiled triumphantly tossing me a black leather jacket.
I put it on and stared at our reflections. "Wow." I commented and she smiled.
But something about it felt nerve racking. I knew she was going to be with Logan most of the time and what would I do? Gage might not even go, or he might be mad, and I wouldn't have anything to do.
"Let's go." Lola said firmly gripping my arm, I grabbed my purse and she pulled me out into the hallway where we started walking down to meet Gage and Logan.
Lola's hands skimmed across her keyboard as she probably texted her boyfriend. Then I saw them.
Gage had on dark jeans, and a black long sleeved shirt rolled up to the elbows. His hair was done in a quiff style, he looked good.
Logan looked the same, but was already hurrying over to Lola to gush about how good she looked. I awkwardly stood around, and they came back.
"I'm gonna drive there, I'll follow you." I said pulling out my keys. My car was parked in the spot I had bought which was a few cars down.
"You wanna come?" I asked Gage. Stupid, why did I ask him? If he's mad why would he want to go?
"Yeah." He said following behind me and then catching up till we reached the cherry red mustang. It was in pretty good shape when my dad bought it.
That sent a blow, reminding me of myself getting up and leaving.
I unlocked it and then he sat in the passenger's seat.
"So this is your car?" he asked me, feeling the side of it. "Nah. I sole it." I said with light sarcasm. He managed a small laugh and I found Logan's blue car.
As we got out onto the road, I couldn't fight my curiosity. Gage stared at him phone probably on Twitter or something.
"You aren't mad at me...about this are you?" I asked him thankful that I was driving so I wouldn't have to look.
"What? No, what?" He repeated dropping his phone on his lap. "I mean, Marigold's party and stuff." I said chewing on my lip.
"No. Dani it's not your fault. Lola is clueless and Logan is just messing with me. Don't feel bad." He offered with a small smile.
"Okay." I said following Logan into the housing development with really big houses on a lake.
"It's her parents summer home. She always throw us parties here." Gage told me quietly.
Did he feel pain now being back here? After a break up with her. I sort of felt jealousy and wanted to turn this car around then so Marigold had no other chance.
We pulled up at this one house, it was tall and grey and gorgeous.
I parked the car and both of us unbuckled our seat belts.
"Dani." He said and I snapped my head around "Yeah?" I asked him.
"Be careful here." He warned.
